Job Description

Job Title: QC / Welding Inspector

Location: Qatar

We are seeking a highly skilled QC / Welding Inspector to join our team for ongoing Oil & Gas projects in Qatar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and inspecting fabrication, erection, piping, and welding/QC activities at site, ensuring all works comply with approved procedures, drawings, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to Project QC Manager / Senior QC Engineer.
• Address and communicate quality-related issues with project management.
• Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and QC personnel on inspection matters.
• Ensure fabrication, erection, and welding activities comply with approved procedures, drawings, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Conduct dimensional inspections, joint fit-ups, and material verification.
• Witness pressure testing of piping as required.
• Approve completed works for release to painting/next stages.
• Verify availability and calibration of inspection/testing instruments.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of inspection/test reports.
• Coordinate with Client Inspectors for inspection and approval activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical fabrication, erection, and welding inspection.
• Minimum 5 shutdown experiences in Oil & Gas field.
• AWS / CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification (preferred).
• NDT Level II certification in RT, PT, UT, VT & MT as per ASNT SNT-TC-1A or equivalent with minimum 5 years' experience.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong Quality Control knowledge in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industries.
• Solid understanding of international codes & standards (ASME, API, BS, EN ISO, ASTM).
• In-depth knowledge of welding processes, variables, discontinuities, and welder performance.
• Good understanding of materials' chemical & mechanical properties (pipes, plates, valves, fittings).

• Leadership abilities with proactive planning & organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with clients and perform well in interviews.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Inspections and QC activities performed as per project schedule.
• Timely submission of inspection and test reports.
