What you will do

The Project Engineer – Fire & Gas Systems is a key role directly reporting to Project Manager for Middle East region. You will be based in Qatar and will be a part of a growing team and be responsible for driving the growth of business for Telecom Systems.

You will be supporting the project management team in designing and execution of projects. As a member of this team, you will work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for you to use your experience to support the team with the pre-sales/estimation.

How you will do it

As an Experienced Project Engineer you need to have a complex knowledge of designing and project execution of Fire & Gas, Fire Alarm, F&G PLC, Gas Suppression etc. in Oil & GAS Sector. You will be client focal point for all techno-commercial matters and will be responsible for reviewing the design, preparing technical submittals, initiating procurement, bringing in value added changes, support commissioning and manage the entire project cycle.

As a Project Engineer you will recommend upgrades or system improvements on maintained system as required and prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects, monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications and you will interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Similar Discipline from a reputable university.

  • MMUP/ UPDA and Qatar Civil Defense Department Certification (QCDD) is mandatory.

  • Minimum of 6-8 years project experience in execution of Fire Protection / Fire Detection projects in Oil & Gas sector.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fire & Gas system, F&G PLC, Gas suppression system, Pump controller panel.

  • Knowledge of Hazardous Area Classification, cable specifications, NFPA 72, NFPA 2001 specifications.

  • Preparing data sheets and technical submittals for F&G and process instruments, IO list, C&E matrix charts etc.

  • Preparing Installation Method statements, FAT/SAT, commissioning procedures.

  • Initiate and respond to contractual issues during project execution.

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Project Cost management, revenue generation and invoicing to customers.

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

  • Good interpersonal, negotiation, labour management and influencing skills.

  • Work experience in ME (UAE or Oman / Kuwait / Qatar) Oil & Gas Industry.

  • Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions.

  • Proven ability to produce high quality and impactful professional documents for clients and internal use

  • Fluency in the English language is essential and excellent mail etiquettes
