The role covers study, design, and execution phases, acting as a technical focal point for electrical engineering activities and coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery.Job Scope Develop conceptual designs and detailed electrical engineering solutionsPlan, monitor, and coordinate assigned modifications and projects with the project teamAct as a discipline focal point for in-house and subcontracted engineering activitiesReview engineering studies and deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations Project Management and Coordination Coordinate electrical engineering reviews and approvals of designs and interfaces in line with project requirementsReview and approve technical documents and engineering deliverablesAssess bidder technical proposals including layouts, electrical schemes, single line diagrams, and data sheetsEnsure electrical engineering activities are delivered within scope, schedule, and budgetProvide engineering support to construction activities and ensure timely issue of construction detailsReview and approve as-built documentation for completed modifications and projects Design and Engineering Perform site surveys and data collection for existing and new facilitiesCarry out electrical engineering studies including load studies, voltage drop, cable sizing, load flow, motor starting, short circuit analysis, and protection coordinationExecute hazardous area classification studies for gas and dust environmentsPerform lighting and illumination calculations, grounding, lightning protection, cathodic protection, and heat tracing studiesDevelop detailed design deliverables such as single line diagrams, layouts, power circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, and cable routing drawingsSize and select electrical equipment in accordance with applicable standardsPrepare technical specifications for electrical equipment, materials, and subcontract scopesPrepare material take-offs and bills of quantitiesIssue material requisitions and perform technical bid evaluations Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, security, environmental, and quality management proceduresSupport HSSE activities and documentation updatesParticipate in project risk assessments and safety reviews including HAZOP Reporting Provide regular progress updates on assigned projectsPrepare technical and project reports as required Communication and Interfaces Liaise internally with project teams, operations, procurement, and other engineering disciplinesInterface externally with contractors, vendors, suppliers, consultants, and service providers Qualifications and ExperienceQualifications Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Experience Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design and engineering within oil and gas or petrochemical industriesBroad exposure to multiple electrical engineering disciplines and project phases Technical Skills Strong knowledge of electrical design and engineering principlesExperience with industrial automation and electrical equipment packagesFamiliarity with electrical network studies and transient analysisExperience with lighting and illumination studiesKnowledge of gas and dust hazardous area classificationsUnderstanding of international electrical codes and standards Generic Skills Strong written and verbal English communication skillsProject and time management capabilityAbility to work independently and within integrated project teamsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsGood general IT skills
