Job Title: Plant InspectorLocation: Qatar, OnshoreContract Type: Fixed-term / Project-basedWork Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-10 hours per dayLeave: 30 days annual leaveStart Date: ASAPOverviewA leading energy operator is seeking a Plant Inspector to support inspection activities during the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and startup phases. The role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of new facilities through early defect detection, adherence to standards, and compliance with policies, procedures, and project targets. Generic Accountabilities Safety, Health & Environment: Ensure all activities comply with safety, health, environmental, and quality policies and standardsQatarization Program: Support development of local employees where applicableFirewall Compliance: Ensure compliance with anti-trust and competition laws and internal policies Key Responsibilities Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on equipment, piping, vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, lifting equipment, and other assetsPerform preliminary integrity assessments of static equipment and piping and issue inspection reportsInspect maintenance and capital projects to ensure compliance with welding, painting, fabrication, and installation standardsCarry out or supervise NDT tests including dye penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, hardness, eddy current, IRIS, thermography, PMI, metallography, boroscopy, and other required techniquesInitiate inspection recommendations and track progress to completion to mitigate risksMaintain inspection tools, instruments, and equipment in operational condition; coordinate procurement as neededUndertake additional inspection tasks as directed by senior inspection staffEnsure proper maintenance of inspection records and reports; update computerized systems and track work through SAP or similar platformsCoordinate and supervise contractor teams to ensure compliance with company requirements and quality standards Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or equivalent Engineering disciplineFor degree holders: minimum 2 years' in-service inspection experienceFor HND holders: minimum 4 years' in-service inspection experience Technical and Business Skills Fluent in English (written and verbal)Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, and relevant inspection softwareExperience with Meridium or similar data management systemsKnowledge of risk-based inspection, corrosion control, and damage mechanismsBasic awareness of plant processes and materialsKnowledge of inspection technologies: UT, MT, PT, RT, and advanced NDT methodsFamiliarity with relevant international codes and standardsCertification in API 510, 570, or equivalent; API 653 as required
