What you need to do:
Design and implementstrategic communication initiatives that include print and radiomedia, digital and social media channels, and niche communicationsto increase the visibility and understanding of theinstitution's vision and purpose.
Proactively identify opportunities for engagementand influence by being current with developments that relate to allkey stakeholders and partners.
Anticipate reputational risk issuesand develop and implement appropriate communication actions.
Lead onthe development implementation, and monitoring of the brandguidelines.
Work with senior management and department staff todetermine the areas where the institution can impact the regionaland international dialogue on development issues through thedevelopment and publication of materials, and participation inselected public speaking events.
Manage the external surveys thatevaluate the attitudes, opinions, and aspirations of thestakeholders and partners.Review the governance standards andoperational protocols for the sign-off on all corporatecommunications emanating from the institution, to ensure thatquality assurance is maintained, and brand guidelines are adheredto.
Develop a calendar for external speaking engagements for keypersonnel, and assist in the preparation of speeches for seniorexecutives.Champion communications throughout the institution toensure that communication considerations form an integral part ofpolicy-making, project designs, visits, and tours by the seniormanagement.
Work with management to develop internal communicationsprograms and processes required to support organizational changeand employee engagement initiatives.Develop and/or conduct mediaand communications training for staff, and assist in thedevelopment of 'brown bag' educationalprograms.
Must haves:
The HCC should have strong results- andperformance-orientation and embody and encourage best practices,creativity, and innovation. Strong leadership skills anddemonstrated talent for fostering an empowered work environment arecritical for success in this role. A sound understanding of theMiddle East media environment would be an asset.
ABachelor's/Master's degree from an accrediteduniversity in Communications, Political Science, InternationalRelations, Public Affairs, Marketing, Journalism, or anotherrelated field.
Significant management experience in masscommunications and/or public relations within a matrix,collaborative environment with at least five (5) years at amanagement level.
Exceptional research, writing, editing, verbal,and interpersonal communication skills.Demonstrated ability tomanage reputational risk.
A successful track record of managing newmedia and digital channels, including website development.
Provenrecord of forging strong and effective relationships within themedia environment and with internal stakeholders.
Sensitivity to theregional, international, and multicultural environments in whichthe institution operates.
Ability to develop strategies, plans, andprograms to address complex corporate issues, recognizingcomplexity and uncertainty, and to evaluate the impact of thosestrategies.
Ability to lead others in assuring existing or new,upcoming communication tools and media channels are fully leveragedto assure proper communication.
Ability to rewrite or edit complexcommunications products for purposeful structure, clarity of ideas,and the logical persuasive presentation of content.Ability to graspcomplex technical concepts for effective communication.
Ability tomanage multiple, high level, and visible projects.
Adept atestablishing rapport with diverse internal and externalpartners.
