Pastry and Bakery Assistant / Pastry Commis

Starting salary:
QAR 2,000++ to QAR 2,200++

Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pastry and Bakery Assistant to join our creative team.

As an assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, and presentation of a wide range of sweet and savory items, from pastries and cakes to bread and artisanal baked goods.

Your role is integral to ensuring our products meet the highest standards of taste, appearance, and quality, fostering an exceptional customer experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in measuring, weighing, and preparing ingredients accurately, following recipes and guidelines provided by senior pastry chefs and bakers.
  • Support the baking process by preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and icings, and coordinating the proper timing of oven use to ensure a smooth production flow.
  • Participate in the artistic side of pastrymaking, helping with decorating cakes, pastries, and other confections, maintaining consistency with the bakery's aesthetic.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, notifying the senior team when stock is running low to avoid disruptions in production.
  • Collaborate with the pastry team to conduct quality checks on finished products, ensuring they meet our standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment, tools, and surfaces, in adherence to food safety and hygiene guidelines.
  • Stay updated on the latest pastry and bakery trends, techniques, and industry developments, and be open to learning new skills to enhance your contribution to the team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or culinary environment is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Passion for baking and pastry arts with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and measurements.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and execute tasks efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on bakery operations.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
QAR2, QAR2,200.00 per month
