Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience at the middle school level required, administrative experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of challenges facing middle schools, curriculum development, middle school pedagogy, and best practices
  • Line management skills and interest in school administration
  • Clear commitment to wellbeing, health & safety, and safeguarding/ Child Protection

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership on pastoral systems and structures in the MHS
  • Plan and implement, with the Counsellor, an advisory programme, including assemblies, that conforms with and promotes the values of ACS and Qatar.
  • Provide strategic direction to students' personal, social and emotional development establishing the highest standards of behaviour
  • Ensure records are kept to support interactions and outcomes, maintain accurate Behaviour logs in the Student Information System, according to ACS policy and practice
  • Review, monitor and advance student behaviour plans, in collaboration with special education leaders and pastoral support team, as well as external agencies as required.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the MHS Counsellors
