About the role


As a Manager Sales, you will be responsible for creating a comprehensive sales strategy and provide leadership on a strategic and commercial level for all sales activities of DQ (Discover Qatar).

Generating long-term maximum profitable revenue and customer volumes for DQ and growing DQ as a major brand.

Other key responsibilities are:

  • Develop a sales strategy for all Discover Qatar (DQ) sales and define distribution points.
  • Accountable for setting and management of metrics for good control of revenue performance and strategic compliance. Jointly with the Senior Manager, agree on the strategic direction for the planning of revenue performance and pricing positioning for current and future seasons.
  • Monitor changing market trends, identify opportunities with recommendations to implement strategies to attain revenue targets.
  • Identify and evaluate new markets and sources of business that will bring additional revenue by active participation in the promotion of Qatar as a destination.
  • Manage the analysis, selection and appointment of representatives/franchisees in new identified key markets, oversee their performance and ensure that the targets are achieved.
  • Maximizing all opportunities for closing deals.
  • Develop plans to implement and maintain professional standards across the Sales team to ensure that the DQ presence is consistent and retains a high profile.
  • Develop, manage and coordinate projects and initiatives on behalf of DQ Sales
  • Prepare and submit annual budgets to the Senior Manager
  • Discover Qatar to maximize opportunities and contribute to the success of Qatar Airways group.
  • Measure the performance of all relevant business decisions such as pricing, incentives, deals and offers and review the impact for any further actions required thereof. Identify and recommend remedial measures is required.
  • Establish and manage high level contacts with clients to enhance Discover Qatar image and facilitate the flow of information to maintain a competitive and reputational edge over competitors.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of all promotional collateral and advertising material ensuring maximum market exposure.
  • Ensure availability of rates in markets for target customer segments.

Qualifications:

About You
We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Discover Qatar Team.

  • Minimum qualification of bachelor's degree or equivalent is essential.
  • 8+ years of jobrelated experience
  • Experience in Travel/Airlines industry with minimum 4 years in commercial sales management level.
  • Demonstrated record of hitting sales targets with exceptional win rates.
  • Experience in developing RFP responses, sales pitches and bid management.
  • Experience in managing marketing and promotional collaterals with exceptional bid presentation skills.
  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of international tour operations.
  • Proven experience of making decisions related to travel related services and DMC products.
