Reporting to the Managing Director, the roleof General Manager is responsible for overseeing, directing, andmanaging all the areas of hotel operations.

He/she will contributeto the overall performance of their property by formulating andexecuting the strategic vision for the property along with theExecutive Committee.

The General manager is also a key partner infacilitating the hiring and retention of exceptional talent as wellas driving Heartist engagement, learning and development,performance, and talent within their departments by strategicallyleading through their Department Heads.

They will have a desire tobe the best at what they do and achieve operational excellence intheir departments through all the metrics that are measured.


KeyDeliverables and Responsibilities Commercial:

  • Responsible for the preparation and compilation of the yearlybudget, business plan and the forecast in coordination with therelevant Department Heads and Regional Sales and Marketing andRevenue leaders
  • Responsible for the achievement of thecommercial results of his/her property and positioning in thecompetitive set, on short-term and long-term basis
  • Maintains a constant awareness of the general market trends (local,domestic, and international) and of the activities of thecompetitors
  • Proactively seeks new business opportunitiesby building new relationships and actively getting involved in thesales activities of the hotel
  • Ensures correct use ofCompany's corporate identity at all levels in the hotel
  • Ensures the online content, websites and information onOTAs are always kept up to date
  • Implements adequatecontrol tools to monitor the commercial activities of the hoteldaily, weekly, monthly and year to date. Act proactively torectify/adjust the commercial strategy where necessary
  • Ensures financial expenditures, contracts and agreements are donein accordance to company's policies and guidelines

General:

  • Ensures consistent focus on guest satisfactionand high quality of service and handles all guest interactionsprofessionally and appropriately
  • Responsible for theoffline and online reputation of the hotel, he/she keeps informedof guests' complaints, ensuring complaint handling, guestreviews and guest recovery
  • Ensures a proper cost controlis implemented at all levels (Payroll, Purchasing, F&Betc.)
  • Encourages and implements CSR initiatives tosupport the local community
  • Ensures hotel complies tothe local and international legal requirements; follows throughrelevant certifications such as HACCP, legionella, Safety etc.
  • Is familiar with all relevant company documentation andrelevant OSMs for his/her field of responsibility.
  • Follows through that the maintenance of the hotel is managed inaccordance to the standards and requirements; material values,renewal and care of premises, furnishing and fitting, machines,assets and FF&E
  • Effectively communicate withother hotel departments, regional, and corporate teams
  • Manage the operations of the hotel to maximize profitability and toensure superior guest service and product quality
  • Ensurethat all operations departments are maximizing revenue and profitpotentials while minimizing costs
  • Manage operationalexpenses to stay within budget guidelines, as well as gather andreport financial information to the Hotel Manager/General Manager
  • Manages performance issues that arise within theoperational departments, as well as train, develop, coach andcounsel, conduct performance evaluations and resolve problems ofdepartmental team members and managers
  • Ensures optimalcompliance with corporate focus audit
  • Is an integralpart of the business team, attends all scheduled meetings andcontributes actively with proper preparation
  • Conducts adaily briefing with management on current key activities
  • Evaluates changes in guest needs, the guest mix and competitiveset, to recommend appropriate product/service and operationalchanges as necessary
  • Ensures guest and employeesatisfaction, while maintaining market competitiveness andexceptional financial performance
  • Anticipate and addressguest issues and establish proactive processes to promote guestsatisfaction
  • Interacts in a positive way with all teammembers to ensure a luxury guest experience
  • Ensurescompliance with local health and safety regulations Finance

  • Act on behalf of thebusiness to work through complex situations and reduce risk,interpreting and implementing company policies and employmentlegislation as appropriate.
  • Exercise sound judgment andintegrity always to ensure confidentiality of protectedinformation.
  • Be fiscally competent in rostering andlabour costs, budgeting, forecasting including the commentary thatgoes with the documents/meetings.
  • Ensure that DepartmentHeads demonstrate full awareness of departmental budget/P&Land work towards achieving it by minimizing expenses and maximizingF&B revenue
