The Internal Proposals/Sales Engineer and Office Admin role is a key role within the Sales group for our newly set up branch in Qatar.

Our key differentiator in the UAE and Gulf markets is its unparalleled levels of customer service & support and this position will be responsible for working closely with other sales team members e.g.

the Sales Engineers, the Sales Office Manager and GM to ensure that the company delivers on this promise and drives the business forward.


The Proposals Engineer will be working in a fast-paced, team environment and will need to be able to effectively multi-task, prioritise work and think laterally.

The Proposals Engineer reports directly to the Area Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Maintain agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and prospective customers.

2) Effectively deal with telephone enquiries requesting quotations for products and/or services.

3) Provide pre-sales technical information to customers, liaising with relevant managers for input as needed.

4) Produce accurate and timely quotations from enquiries allocated by the Sales Support Administrator.

5) Pro-actively follow up with quotations consistently and when necessary.

6) Meet and exceed the agreed specific performance objectives.

7) Ensure all information is entered into SAP system according to Sales Procedures.

8) Liaise on a daily basis with colleagues and update them on your work to ensure a high level of team collaboration and relations exist.

9) Ensure that the external sales team are kept informed of any key developments relevant to their accounts.

10) Ensure any customer complaints/issues/queries reach a successful and appropriate conclusion. Where relevant, refer matters to the Area Sales Manager.

11) Attend and actively contribute meaningful input to weekly Sales meetings to keep managers and colleagues up to date on your sales and conversion pipeline.

12) Attend occasional site visits and customer meetings in order to develop professionally and understand and the business on a wider level.

13) Attend and positively contribute to company events, exhibitions, etc.

as requested to both promote our brand and also to learn about external market influences on the business, product developments, etc.

14) Handling banking collection and payments and liaising with banks for daily needs.

15) Payment follow up with local customers on regular basis and other general admin works

16) Handling shipments in and out, liaising with freight forwarders and from related entities for shipment collections and deliveries

17) Liaising with customs departments to ensure shipments are released without hassles

Key Skills & Capabilities:

1) Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation Engineer and experience essential, a minimum of 2-years of Qatar experience in similar role.

2) Excellent understanding of written and spoken English language - articulate and well presented.

3)

Proficiency in at least one of the following languages would be advantageous:
e.g. Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and/or Arabic.

4) Good understanding of how to write quotations and general 'common sense' understanding of pricing process.

6) Good numeracy skills and motivated by working to and achieving targets.

Process and Procedures

1) Able to effectively follow procedures.

2) Proactive in answering telephone as a part of the team.

3) Effectively prepare for meetings and/or presentations and provide relevant input.

1) Effective Time Management - able to prioritise and manage workload.

2) Multi-Tasking skills.

3) Ability to work well under pressure - maintain calm and professional manner in calm and busy periods.

4) Results Orientated with a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and getting work done.

Educational /Certification Requirement(s):
1) Technical degree in area such as electrical / electronics / instrumentation engineering.

2) Valid Qatar Driving License preferred.
