Successful applicants
must have:

  • A certified UK teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in school counselling, wellbeing support, or a related role.
  • A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Experience of current UK initiatives and developments in student well being
  • Experience of leading on pastoral related initiatives across school
  • Demonstrated ability to assess situations, develop intervention strategies, and follow through with effective solutions.
  • A willingness to take part in extracurricular activities after school.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices in pupil wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with pupils, families, and school staff.

Desirable qualities:

  • Experience of working with pupils with English as an Additional Language or English as a Second Language.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the wellbeing of pupils and creating a positive school culture.
  • Experience of integrating technology into workplace.
  • Experience of (or a willingness to learn how to) integrating and be involved in STEM Education across the curriculum.
  • Previous international teaching/pastoral experience

HOW TO APPLY:

Successful applicants will be required to travel to Qatar around 21st August 2024 for induction training.

Sherborne Qatar School for Girls, a STEM School, opened in a new purpose-built school building in January 2021 on a brand-new site near Doha Festival City, Qatar.

The school is for girls from Pre-School to Year 12 and is marketed equally to local pupils and expats, but the majority of girls comes from the local community.

This is in the best traditions of British education and is the educational philosophy behind the girls' school.


In order to achieve this vision, we are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and innovative teaching professionals to join our school and help our Headmistress develop our ethos inside and outside of the classroom.
