Responsibilities:

  • Data base modeling using design tools
  • Data base design, definition, implementation & maintenance
  • Develop triggers and stored procedures
  • Support Developer's needs & requirements from data bases
  • Support Test, Quality and production environments
  • Data base change requests implementation Test, Quality and production
  • Fulfill Data requirements for development, Quality environments
  • Manage data transfer between DB2 for zOS data bases and external entities
  • Coding schemas EBCDIC/ASCII/Unicode support
  • Prepare and run on request SQL Queries
  • Participate in the problem/change processes
  • IBM IDAA (accelerator) support
  • Applications Db2 zOS security management
  • Participate in DB2 for zOS Data base backup, recovery
  • Run DB2 for zOS utilities
  • Enterprise backup (flash, VTS) and recovery support
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery tests
  • Replication tools use
  • SQL query performance tuning

Education/Qualifications/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, prefer with Information, Technology or computing science major.
  • Professional training and certificates

Required Skills:

  • DBA
  • Performance tuning
  • SQL coding and tuning
  • JCL
  • REXX, CLIST is an advantage
  • IBM system automation is an advantage
  • Db2 for zOS Programming is an advantage
  • Presentation/Training / skill transfer
  • Other DBMS knowledge
  • Good written and verbal English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Selfmotivated and able to work independently

Experience requirements:


5+ years proven working experience on Db2 for ZOS Data base administration, Db2 for zOS tools, Db2 for zOS utilities, Db2 zOS monitoring tools.


  • CICS, MQ, WAS for ZOS platform experience will be an advantage
  • ISPF, JES2, SDSF, VSAM, JCL, REXX, CLIST, etc.
  • Capacity planning
  • JAVA programming experience is an advantage
  • COBOL programming experience is an advantage
  • Monitoring tools experience is an advantage
