Primary purpose ofjob
QatarEnergy is looking to recruit a LeadSystems Engineer (Systems Security) that will join a teamresponsible for overall

protectionconfidentiality integrity and availability of the ICT systems thatsupports QatarEnergys business operations.
The lead willbe accountable for the overall systems security controls design andimplementation for the systems

informationsecurity domains and ensure robust systems security controlsarchitectures based on current International

security best practices and industry frameworks in line with ICTKPIs and CSFs. In addition the new member willbe

responsible to support and maintain thedaytoday operations and system change lifecycle of QatarEnergyscritical
security devices tools & services andshall provide senior technical support for all perimeter securitydevices whilst

providing leadership &mentoring to the team members.

The role will bean enabler to the companys success through development andimplementation of security practices that
create a secureworking environment

Experience& Skills
10 years of progressivecombined technical experience in systems security solutionsincluding experience with security
principles anddefenseindepth techniques related standards and protocols with aminimum of 7 years professional

handsonexperience in design and support of complex systems securityinfrastructure preferably in the Oil and Gas

industry.

  • Expert level of technicalhandson experience in implementation and operation of systemsrelated but not limited to
following systemssecurity technologies.
  • Ability to identifyimplement create and operate endpoint security controls standardsprocesses and procedures and
ensuring thatthey are compliant with QatarEnergys security policies andinternationally recognized security frameworks
andstandards.
  • Effective decision making in termsof potential financial and operational consequences and to improvebusiness efficiency
  • Manage and support systemssecurity solutions and provide technical problem support resolutionand communication
when appropriate.
  • Excelling communication skills to effectivelycommunicate with ICT internal QatarEnergy business usersQatarEnergy
subsidiaries and joint venturecompanies government organizations third parties etc. on allmatters related to systems

security.

  • Abilityto collect analyze technical logs and report relevant discoveryprovide technical conclusions and suitable
recommendations towards resolution of reported incidents based onanalyzed technical data in a timely manner.
  • High leadership skills and effective resourcemanagement
  • Manage and support conventionalsignaturebased protection and applications whitelisting solutionsfor endpoint security.
  • Manage and supportendpoint security protection systems: Antivirus hostbasedfirewall/IPS and device controls.
  • Manage andsupport Data Labeling and DLP solutions.
  • Manageand support password managementsolutions.
  • Manage and support endpointcryptography and data encryption & HSMsolutions.
  • Manage and support Microsoft PublicKey Infrastructure solution.
  • Develop review andmaintain technical documentation and versioning of implementedsecurity systems.
  • Research and investigatelatest vulnerabilities alerts (CVEs) and implementcountermeasures.
  • Implement security measures tomitigate newly identified risks and recommend security controlschanges or
improvements as needed.
  • Analyze requests and incidents from QatarEnergystaff and provide solution based on the QatarEnergy CyberInformation
Security Framework
  • Effective problem solver with strong analyticskills.
  • Ability to interpret adapt and applyguidelines and procedures.
  • Has presentationskills that will gain acceptance of proposed solution from impactedstakeholders.
  • Can easily deal with complextechnical organizational and process problems related toprojects
  • Attains solid project managementskills that will lead to serving security requirements and obtaininformation about
solutions and successfuldelivery.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills innetwork software configuration log interpretationetc.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor degree inNetwork Engineering Computer Engineering Electrical/ElectronicEngineering or an
equivalent Engineeringfield.

  • Relevant information securitycertification is a plus (such as Security CISSP orCCIE)
  • Solid understanding of applicationtransport and infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS DNS DHCP WINS NTPFTP HTTP
SMTP CIFS LDAP and Microsoft AD andability to support these applications/protocols when accessedthrough systems

securityappliances.

  • Certified specialist insystems security related systems such as: Endpoint securityprotection application whitelisting DLP
PKIhostbased firewalls least privilege & password managementsolutions.
  • Knowledge of operating systemsapplications and databases securityprinciples.
  • Excellent writing skills with theability to write technical blueprints high and lowlevel designdocuments standards
processes proceduresmanuals feasibility studies and tendering proposals.
  • Excellent back MS office applications (MSOffice Suite MS Project Visio)skills.
