Duties &Responsibilities

  • Faculty members are expected to provideup-to-date reports involving teaching activities and studentadvising as assigned by the department
  • Faculty memberswill be responsible for course development and participate incurriculum and program development
  • Meet allinstructional and advising responsibilities as specified in thepolicies and procedures (refer to Part-4 within this handbook)
  • Participate in scholarly and research activities whichenhance their professional development and contribute to theirdiscipline
  • Serve as appropriate in the department,college and university committees
  • Provide professionalservices to the University and community Qualifications
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is necessary.
  • Required to be at least recognized authority in the subject areawith achievements in research and scholarship, and an in-depthunderstanding of own specialism(s) to enable the development of newknowledge and understanding within the field.
  • Evidenceof relevant research potential, including potential to publish inappropriate leading journals.
  • Evidence of ability inteaching example able to use a range of delivery techniques toengage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them tolearn.
  • Ability to initiate development in the curriculumand to take responsibility for the effective and efficient deliveryof teaching programs, developing the curriculum and appropriateassessment techniques.
  • Understanding of equalopportunity issues as they may impact on areas of teaching.
  • Engaged in continuous professional development.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well tocolleagues and different kinds of students.
  • Ability toperform to required deadlines and to initiate, plan, organize anddeliver programs of work.
