Purpose:
Picture Editor is responsible toAssembling all raw footage with camera shots either recorded ortransferred packages to live, oversee the quality of progress andquality control of the project to the Alaraby TV standards

MainDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Assembling all raw footagewith camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape inpreparation for inputting the computer
  • Inputting uncutrushes and sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files onthe computer
  • Digitally cutting the files to put togetherthe sequence of the film and deciding what is usable
  • Creating an or assembly edit of the programme / film anddetermining the exact cutting for the next and final stages
  • Reordering and tweaking the content to ensure thelogical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video
  • Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineeringand editing
  • Quality control the final product beforebroadcasting to reflect Alaraby TV policies and approaches.
  • Reporting on and monitoring quality assurance of sites.
  • Meeting the OFCOM standards.
  • Understand ourtechnical standards
  • Understands & meets channelsbroadcast & audio/video standards
  • Ability toperform under pressure in a Live newsenvironment
