Opening in 2023, Rixos Qetaifan Island North will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark.

The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's Waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower is the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.

AV Duty Supervisor


Within the general guidelines given by the management, AV Duty Supervisor is responsible to monitor each project, from the beginning to the on-site implementation, by estimating all requirements for sound, projection, and lighting.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee operation and quality of AV technology to ensure equipment is in good condition.
  • Run A/V, Live stream equipment using multiple tools.
  • Familiar use of A/V software for any purpose.
  • Evaluate equipment needs and notify manager of need to repair or replace as well as contacting relevant service providers to complete repairs.
  • Plan, organize and implement the maintenance and operation of performancerelated equipment at the various venues, including lights and lighting console, sound equipment, video projector, cameras, microphones, sound console, speakers, special effects equipment, rigging system, IT equipment, Livestreaming and other technical systems used during events, rehearsals, performances, and academic assessments.
  • Program and run sound equipment, lighting equipment, video projector, IT equipment, rigging controls and other technical systems during performances and productions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with production equipment, monitor scene shop work space and the security of all equipment.
  • Setup of equipment, including AV equipment, P.A systems.
  • Utilize proper safety practices and procedures in lines with A/V equipment, and ensure all people understand safety.
  • Maintain a variety of files and records of equipment and manuals in conjunction with the IT department.
  • Ensure that sufficient spares are stocked to maintain or replace equipment for which responsibility is held, including consumables.
  • Be on site to assist in performances and deal with technical emergencies or issues as required this may include after hours.
  • Operate and support theatre sound mixing desk when required.
  • Operate and support theatre lighting desk when required.
  • Perform other related duties pertaining to the theatre as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the AV manager

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry (5* Hotel or resort)
  • Good in English and communications skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Customer oriented with a positive attitude and smiling face
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Cooperative and selfgiving team player
  • Ability and willingness to perform under stress
