As our Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for planning, directing, controlling and coordinating the activities of the Engineering department.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Direct and control all subordinate engineering staff to ensure that all day to day operation matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment by conducting routine inspections and determining appropriate rectification measures.
  • Maintain systems to be able to handle day to day guest requests quickly and efficiently.
  • Plan and schedule appropriate ongoing preventative maintenance programs.
  • To be aware of all fire, health, safety, emergency and security procedures in the hotel.
  • To adhere to the Department and Hotel's standard operating procedures (SOP's)

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role within a similar hotel brand or business.
  • Strategic, creative and bale to communicate effectively.
  • Proficient in all aspects of building operations and facilities management
  • A proven leader who is able to inspire others and drive change
  • Strategic Planner and proficient in making annual operating budget for the department
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with attention to details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • Strategic thinking combined with the ability to move strategy to action
  • Problem solving skills
  • Managerial / Leadership skills
  • Selfmotivated, creative and confident, with a highly energetic personality
  • Creative, independent, and manages stress gracefully

  • Must be organized and ability to work and follow systems and procedures
  • Must be adaptable to change of strategy, ideas, systems etc.
  • Proficiency in organizational planning with the ability to multitask
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor degree in mechanical or electrical engineer

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar size hotel or resort

Qatar experience is an advantage.

Strong track of project management and in preventive maintenance

  • Experience in government processes.
  • Fluency in Arabic, written & spoken is an added advantage
  • Fluency in English and other languages, written and spoken, is preferred
