Our client is a leading Qatari Holding Group with diversified global business interests within the Hospitality, Real Estate, Industrial, Investment Management and Financial Services sectors.

This Group is now expanding its operations into agricultural production for livestock, agricultural, animal breeding, flower production, horses, aquaponics and hydroponics farming.

Our client now seeks to recruit a Director of Engineering (Industrial / Manufacturing) to engineer design and project manage agricultural projects in Qatar, as the client's representative.


Reporting to the Chairman and managing a team of 6 multi-disciplined engineers, this role is responsible for the following:

  • Management of all phases of assigned projects including development and management of project schedules and budgets, management of in-house and consulting design teams, contractor selection and management and leadership of productive multi-disciplined meetings.
  • Establishment of design criteria, review of design documents and review of construction phases.
  • Preparation of management reports and presentation to the Chairman in relation to the development and status of projects.
  • Recruitment, selection, development and mentoring of a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
  • Partner with multiple internal customers including R&D, software development and business development to pursue business opportunities related to growing plants in controlled environments.
  • Provision of design input on multidisciplines including architectural, MEP, structural, acoustics and waterproofing.

The attributes we seek for this role comprise:

  • A strong track record in managing general contractors and subcontractors is required with experience in leading a sizable team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
  • Extensive experience in cost estimation and negotiating is essential.
  • The exceptional communicator we seek will have the ability to establish timelines and budgets with a proven track record of bringing construction projects in on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, Primavera, CAD, SolidWorks, flow charts, purchasing and inventory control programs.

Salary:
Up to QAR20,900.00 per month
