  • As a Senior Environment Engineer,responsibility is to assess, manage, and mitigate environmentalimpacts associated with various projects and operations. You willapply your expertise in environmental engineering to ensurecompliance with regulations, minimize adverse effects on ecosystemsand human health, and promote sustainability practices. Your roleinvolves conducting environmental assessments, implementingpollution control measures, and providing technical support toproject teams to achieve environmental objectives.

KEYACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Environmental Management:

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) toevaluate potential environmental effects of proposed projects oractivities.
  • Identify and assess risks to air, water,soil, and biodiversity, considering factors like pollution, habitatdestruction, and resource depletion.
  • Providerecommendations for mitigation measures and alternative solutionsto minimize adverse environmental impacts.
  • Ensurecompliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standardsat local, national, and international levels.
  • Interpret and apply relevant environmental laws and regulations toproject planning, design, and implementation. · Liaisewith regulatory authorities and agencies to obtain permits andapprovals for environmental aspects of projects.
  • Develop and implement pollution control measures to prevent orminimize pollution from industrial processes, constructionactivities, and waste disposal. · Design and overseeinstallation of pollution control systems such as wastewatertreatment plants, air pollution control devices, and hazardouswaste management facilities. · Monitor and assessenvironmental performance through sampling, testing, and analysisof air, water, and soil quality. · Promotesustainability practices and principles within project teams andacross the organization. · Identify opportunities forresource conservation, energy efficiency, and waste reduction tominimize environmental footprint. · Incorporatesustainable design and green technologies into project plans toenhance environmental performance. · Develop andimplement environmental management systems (EMS) to systematicallyidentify, assess, and manage environmental risks and opportunities.· Conduct audits and reviews to evaluate effectivenessof EMS implementation and ensure continuous improvement inenvironmental performance.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope,and deliverables. · Develop project plans, schedules,and budgets, and ensure adherence to project timelines.· Contribute to design and development of engineeringsolutions, including drawings, specifications, and technicaldocumentation. . Allocate resources effectively, includingpersonnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.· Oversee project execution, monitor progress, andidentify and address issues or deviations from plans.
  • Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies tominimize potential impacts. Skills · Bachelor'sdegree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, hydrology,marine biology, or related discipline). Advanced degree preferred.· Proven experience in consulting or professionalservices, with a track record of successful project management andclient relationship management within the Groundwater, Environment,and/or Marine sectors. · Strong leadership skills, withthe ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellencewithin their respective areas of expertise. · Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability toeffectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders atall levels. · Strategic thinker with a business-orientedmindset and a focus on driving results and achieving organizationalobjectives within each specialized area. · Soundjudgment and decision-making abilities, with the capacity tonavigate complex challenges and make informed, timely decisions.
Demonstrated proficiency in risk management, quality assurance, andcompliance. · Project management skills, includingplanning, organizing, and coordinating.
