We seek anexperienced, professional, and caring Preschool Assitant Directorto join our growing team. The Preschool Assistant Director utilizessound early education principles in managing a Preschool program.
Oversees programming and general supervision of the Preschoolprogram. In Addition, is responsible for the ongoing maintenance ofPreschool teachers and all school functions in the absence of theDirector. May also function as a classroom teacher and beresponsible for the daily supervision and management of a group ofchildren.

Enrollment:

  • Support Nursery School and Preschool enrollmentgoals
  • Participates in marketing and thetour/inquiry process
  • Send welcome emails andletters to newly enrolled families

Programming:

  • Adheres to regulatory and accreditationrequirements.
o Maintains compliance with accreditationand regulatory agencies and conforms to health, safety, andlicensing regulations.
o Maintains compliance with NCLicensing Standards, BCR, and Accreditation Standards.

  • Maintains a consistent flow of the day in theprogram.
  • Participates in strategic planningfor the Village and the company.
  • Prepares forand participates in monthly QA meetings.
  • Supports GWP operations
  • Supports inclusion ofchildren with exceptional needs.
  • Assists withcontributions to the monthly newsletter, per request.
  • Plans and supports school-wide events
  • Uses ProCare to manage Accountability Notebooks andassociated requirements.
  • Completes monthlyclassroom observations per metric requirements.
  • Completes monthly fire drills
  • Completes and maintains Emergency Preparedness Requirements(EPR).

Personnel:

  • Develops and implements Preschool staff schedules tosupport the effective use of payroll efficiently.
  • Manages attendance of employees (initial approval fortime off requests).
  • Managescallouts.
  • Assists with staff meetings andtraining.
  • Works to create and manage summerstaff schedules.
  • Address staff concerns andcompliance with LeafSpring rules and regulations.
  • Report all concerns to Director

Parent and Family Support:

  • Participates in proactive parentcommunication focused on partnering.
  • Firstimpressions (maintain five senses in the foyer).

Budget:

  • Works within a set budget.

PersonalDevelopment:

  • Maintain ongoing professional growth to include a mandatory 30professional development hours annually, with ten hours coming fromoutside of LeafSpring School.
  • Plays an activerole in professional organizations.

Support of Administrative AssistantDuties:

  • ManagesPreschool student files (the actual file).
  • Organizes additional billing and gives school-wide AA to post inProCare.
  • Print weekly rolls and associateddocuments.
  • Maintains updated photos inProCare.

MinimumQualifications:
A. A love forchildren and an ability to relate well with them, their families,and teachers.
B. Baccalaureate degree in early childhoodeducation, child development, or another child-relatedfield.

OR
A Baccalaureate degree or higher ina non-related field and 12 semester hours inchild-related
subjects

OR
Associates or CDA in early childhood education, child development,or other child-related fields.
C. 2 years experienceteaching young children
D. 1-year experience in asupervisory position in early education
E. Previousexperience in a NAEYC accredited program preferred.
F.CPR and 1st Aid and ServSafe certified or obtain certification uponhire.
G. Excellent written and verbal communicationskills
H. Positive attitude and strong work ethic - mustbe a team player
I. Willingness to work a flexibleschedule between the hours of 6:15 am - 6:45 pm
J.English proficiency.
K. Coursework in a field related tochild development is required.
L. Must be 18 years ofage required
M. For certain positions, you must have aclean driving record, be over 21, and have held a valid
driver's license for at least five years. Subject to CBCcheck.
N.

Ability to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, sit,walk, stand, reach above head, and move up and down from the floorto lift children.

O. Must be able to lift a minimum ofup to 50 lbs
P. Must have color/depth perception anddelicate hand & finger movements.
