The Training Instructor Armament, will beresponsible for preparing and delivering boththeoretical andpractical training, relating to Typhoon Type, specialist andsupporttraining, and assessing trainee performance and evaluating theefficacyof the training system.

Formal Training will occur withinthe Qatar TyphoonTraining Facility (QTTF) augmented by mentoredtraining within the operationalenvironment. The role also includesthe duties of the Squadron Training Cell todevelop, maintain andmanage the competencies of Squadron personnel.

Key aspects of theTraining Instructor Armament role includes:

  • Preparation anddelivery of the allocated course inaccordance with the authorisedSyllabus, and associated materials, in line thetraining schedulewithin the Training Management Information System(TMIS).Invigilating and marking examinations and assessmentsandmarking assessments.
The continuous assessment, evaluation andreportingof trainee progress.

Developing, maintaining andmanagingthe competencies of Squadron personnel; these specific rolesaredetailed in the following Job Specifications:

  • Ensuring thattrainees use appropriate PersonalProtection Equipment (PPE) andobserve safety precautions and procedures duringpracticaltraining.
  • Ensuring that equipment pre-use checks are carriedoutand associated approved data is available before trainingcommences.
  • Ensuring training is conducted safely and thattrainingareas, including training aids, classrooms, workshops andgroundinstructional / operational aircraft are left in a safecondition.
Maintaining discipline of your allocated traineesat alltimes; this includes break times and during changeover betweentrainingareas.
Reporting trainee absences to your TrainingInstructorSupervisor and/or Head of Maintenance.
TrainingInstructors are expected to fulfilspecific roles in support of theQTTF (when appointed by the TrainingInstructorSupervisor):CourseCoordinator.
SubjectLead.
Trainingaircraftand equipment coordinator.
Otherduties as determined by the TrainingInstructor Supervisor.
Development and maintenance of their ownInstructorcompetencies.
  • A ctively commit to continuous improvementas anintegral part of the primary duties by identifying andreporting coursedeficiencies (omissions and/or inaccuracies) andimprovements to the trainingsystem and materials to the TrainingInstructor Supervisor.
Requirements Possess a TrainingQualificationat Level 3 or above e.g. Level 3 Award in Education&Training, Level 4 Certificate in Education &Training, Level 5 Diploma inEducation & Training. Possess aminimumrecognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevantaircraft maintenance discipline,or suitable equivalent.

Recentin-depthexperience, to a level appropriate for their role, within aMaintenance &Support environment (typically a minimum of 5years), including directexperience of supporting Trainingactivities.

Understands the Regulatory Framework anditsapplicability to the training system, processes andactivities.

Minimum of 2 years experience of delivering aircraftTypetraining and having operational knowledge and understandingofinstructional delivery and mentoring activities, and theassociated business key performance metrics.

Undertakes arange ofwork requiring a professional understanding of Training structuresandprocesses.
Experiencedgeneralist applies understanding within andacross a professional area ofknowledge, including how solutions aredeveloped and implemented.
Self-sufficient in all common aspects ofTraining.
