Job Description Summary:
Lead the Engineering & Field Service team for part of the Gulf

  • Iraq cluster for Grid Automation
Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical aspects of GA projects including technical responsibility site commissioning.
  • Lead the Engineering & Field Service team for part of the Gulf
  • Iraq cluster for Grid Automation
  • Responsible for the Design & engineering & test & commissioning (T&S) of CCS & DCS projects, M&D, communication, APM Projects, any other GA related projects
  • Mandays (MD) estimation and MD control to be within the estimation of the projects.
  • Responsible for the resource planning of the engineering team and Site commissioning team.
  • Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team to specify, design and test the project, whilst meeting the required technical standards
  • Coordinate workplace EHS issues and ensure availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel, both internal and subcontracted
  • Support production through the manufacture of projects
  • Manage and secure approval as well as renewal of approvals of T&C engineers from key accounts
  • Analyze skill matrix, competency gaps and address people development needs through proper training and development plans
  • Support to Operations team to Control projects effectively in terms of budgeted profitability, planning, and general reporting (internal / external). Ensure that agreements with customer for documentation lead times, delivery, reliability and quality are achieved within the budgetary constraints agreed within the Unit.
Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline
  • 10 plus years relevant experience
  • Good oral / written communication
  • Appreciation of cubicle / racks construction
  • Ability to read / interpret tender / contract documentation, schematics, procedures and policy guidelines, and write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts and draw valid solutions
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and to meet strict deadlines, whilst working in a team
  • Knowledge of competitor products is advantageous
  • Have a working knowledge of commercial, contractual conditions, ideally in electrical power system or associate industries
  • Experience of managing projects for protection and control systems is a distinct advantage
  • Business understanding and knowledge of Grid Automation products and systems
