Deputy Design Manager will be responsible forreviewing designs from a variety of disciplines and making surethese are in line with building codes, standards and regulations,then given the designs approval to begin sitework.

Duties &Responsibilities, (include but not limitedto):

· Manage thedesign process from inception through concept, schematic design,detail design to ensure quality and clientsatisfaction.

· Manage the contractorsand subcontractors design team including structure, architectureand MEP design.

· Assist engineeringstaff in the design and development of systems andcomponents.

· Collaborate with theengineering staff to produce design sketches and drawings inaccordance with applicablestandards.

· Preparation of designdocuments and instructions.

· Checkingof documents prepared by consultant, venders and subcontractors asappropriate.

· Review and verifydesign drawings and other technical documentation prepared byothers to ensure correctness and accuracy in form, fit andfunction.

· Coordination with otherdisciplines for necessaryinformation.

· Conduct or attenddesign review meetings with the employer, consultants, vendors,subcontractors or other designengineers.

· Checking of contracttechnical specifications to confirm adequacy andimplementation.

· Ensure that thedesign is aligned, coordinated and meet the requirements of thecontract.

· Ensure the constructiondocuments/drawings are consistent with the design documents and incompliance with the contractrequirements.

· Provide technicalexpertise in development or review of policies and procedures inrelation to architectural, structures and systems and construction/ safety code.

· Researches andmaintain knowledge of current building materials and methods ofapplication

· Approve the drawings andplans made by the team validating approval for furtherprocess.

· Check and fix any issuesthat might occur on the design.

·Preparing the scope of work, specifications and drawings for tenderdocuments.

· Coordinate a team effortto complete a project promptly andsuccessfully.

· Act as intermediarybetween Client & the team.

·Working around constraining factors such as town planninglegislation, environmental impact and projectbudget.

· Follow up for buildingpermits and obtain Municipalapproval.

· Keep within financialbudgets and deadlines.
