  • Safety/GMP
Knowledge of safety systems, procedures & monitoring theireffectiveness related to filling/packaging/line QCoperations
Ensure all samplingand other QC related activities are conducted in line with existingsafety systems and procedures
Completing safety check sheets daily & accident/Near MissReporting
Ensuring operatorscomply with current safety rules & regulations e.g. PPE /ATEX
Ensuring all operators aretrained & work areas are always kept clean & tidyin accordance with GMPpolicies.

  • Quality
Ensuring all operators are aware of the required Quality Standardsappertaining to the product beingfilled.
Ensuring all productionis performed in conformance with the QAsystem.
Monitoring qualitystandards throughout the productionrun.
Highlighting &problem solving down to root cause, with the aid of Engineering& QA departments, of all qualitynon-conformances.
Working withthe Quality Assurance to continually improve & solveproduction line issues.
Carry outline quality inspection tasks to the prescribed timescale and tothe required standard ofaccuracy.
Record details oftesting accurately and in full.
Complete Line QC paperwork in a timely and accuratefashion.
Raise rejections ifappropriate and clearly identify products/ materials with thenecessarystickers.

Administration
Ensure data capture equipment is available and in good workingorder.
Line balancing and linehopping to maximise labourutilisation
Organising thecorrect & timely supply of components to the productionline, in line with costed rate/costing and to highlight variances(+/-)
Organising the correctnumber of operators to achieve giventasks/jobs.
Ensuring allproduction paperwork/computer entries are completed accurately& in full.
Liaise withPlanning Team to understand zone workload and labour requirementsto deliver.
Highlight anycapacity constraints withresolutions

  • Communication
Clear & effective communication of work instructions to theProduction Team.
Concise, clearand proactive communication with other department s e.g.
Engineering /Stores/QA.
Reportingof problems/discrepancies to the Zonal Operations Manager i.e. RCA& recommendations.
Briefing team members weekly on objectives e.g.
Safety/Quality/efficiencies/waste/lean.

  • OurPeople and Training Maintaining Leadership of employees under theirresponsibility.
Assigning dutiesto Line Leaders.
Building a Teamfrom a group of individuals & motivatingthem.
Training &developing members of team to perform settasks.
Ensuring all training isrecorded & the correct % of multiskilling
Handling HRissues/matters as they arise.
Engender a continuous improvement culture under the OperationalExcellence strategic direction
Conducting, documenting, and agreeing mid-year and full yearappraisal interviews with members ofteam.

  • KeyPerformance

Indicators (By whichobjectives/ achievements will be measured) To own and present DailyLine performance boards including aspects of Tagging, escalation,and 100 Years Fix.

Actively participate in the 0900 DRM to drivecontinuous improvement actions
Produce to agreed Quality/Safety & OperationalStandards

Customer complaintsmanagement and support of close outactions
Waste Levels andmanagement i.e. rejects/duds/reworketc

RequirementsNecessaryrole related knowledge, skills and experience at selection
A proven track record ofdelivering manufacturing kpi s in SQDCP(essential)
NVQ level 5 orequivalent in Management(Essential)
Experience of leadinga team of people including development of Teams and individualswhile creating accountability to deliverobjectives.
Able to takeaccountability for the shift performance and manpowerrequirements
Fully able todevelop team members, ensure excellent onboarding of all Productionteam members.
Identify andaddress training and skills gaps to ensure fully effectiveteam/shift.
Ability to accuratelyunderstand and followinstructions
Ability toaccurately complete paperwork
Ability to meet deadlines
Numerate & ability to operate Lean Tools/ techniques i.e.
Fishbone, 5 Whys, SPC, Kaizen, SMED, OEE etc
Effective and timelyinvestigations around Safety and Qualityissues.
Proficient in useMicrosoft Office and company data collectionsystems
Good knowledge of Companyproducts and their related qualitystandards
Good verbal and writtencommunication skills
