About the role:


Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Technical Engineering team as a Manager Workshops.

As a Manager Workshops, you will be responsible for controlling all activities in Workshops under your control.

You will be responsible to ensure work carried out in your assigned Workshops is in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.

You will also ensure turnaround times are kept to a minimum with efficient work flow processes to deliver timely and cost-effective output as well as planning and managing recourse levels, training requirements, performance reviews, equipment and tooling.


Specific responsibilities for the role include:

  • Develop a plan to enhance in-house repair capability of the Workshop by reviewing external repair cost in order to achieve self-sufficiency and cost saving.
  • Responsible for management of projects and developments when introducing new aircraft components, processes and workshop capabilities.
  • Ensure that all aircraft components routed to the workshops are maintained and certified in accordance with company and QCAR/EASA Part145 requirements and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Ensure procedures are followed to control and update all component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, company documentation.
  • Produce functional design specifications together with designing special and efficient tooling.
  • Accountable for the management of resources under their jurisdiction to ensure leave, training, sickness and other absences are efficiently controlled.

Qualifications

About you

  • Relevant College or University qualification with minimum 9 years of experience in component maintenance environment, preferably in QCAA/EASA approved organization.
  • Hold minimum of three component / aircraft type trainings.
  • Recent experience of leading and managing workshop production team with relevant Management and leadership qualification.
  • Thorough understanding of organization policies, regulations, products and processes relative to the component maintenance.
  • Detailed knowledge of workshop capabilities and procedures.
  • Must have a strong, demonstrable commitment to customer service and be committed to proactive review of processes and procedures to continually enhance service quality, service delivery and support.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively manage individual units.
