Primary Purpose of Job

  • We are seeking Principal Petroleum Engineer (Production Optimization Specialist) to join the Production Engineering Division UOI/4 of IS Field Development Team. Our production engineers manage unique well environments fitted with new technologies, specialized downhole equipment, and surface production facilities. This technical role requires proficient skills in well production utilizing gas lift and ESP. The position is responsible for maximizing the efficiency and output of IS field output and employing cutting-edge techniques and technologies to optimize production processes, enhance reservoir performance and reduce the operational cost.
  • In addition to maximise Idd El Shargi field economic recovery from various offshore reservoirs through production monitoring, well surveillance and optimization activities for ISND field.
Education

  • Minimum of a BSc or MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 20 years of related work experience as a Petroleum Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry with demonstrated Surveillance / Reservoir Engineering / Production Engineering / Field Development expertise in optimizing well production in large oil and gas fields.
  • Lead production optimization solutions for existing producing wells and future development areas
  • Responsible for well and field production performance, integrated production system modelling using material balance, Nodal Analysis and surface Network Software (Prosper-GAP- Mbal; or similar software).
  • Work closely with the field teams to plan, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor gas lift activities to ensure optimum well productivity and uptime.
  • Responsible for routine well and reservoir surveillance, problem well diagnostics and proficient in downhole remediation practices and prepare field operational procedures.
  • Evaluate, design, deploy, and assess new gas lift technologies Ensure adequate well start-up and shut down procedures for gas and gas and oil wells.
  • Daily production monitoring and well surveillance.
  • Plan and program field/wells opportunities, surveillance plan a providing support to business plan.
  • Work with Cross-functional team to define and update the field completion/stimulation strategy.
  • Should have the skillset of mentoring the Qatari associates and developees in gas lift operations.
  • Required to regularly go to the field for different gas lift operations such as commissioning, optimization, evaluation, and well service operations.
  • Engage in technical studies and projects. Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
  • Strong expertise in well performance analysis and fluid dynamics.
  • Proficiency in simulation software and modeling using material balance, Nodal Analysis, and surface Network Software (Prosper-GAP- Pipesim, OLGA; or similar software).
  • Working knowledge in production assurance and optimization of natural flowing oil and gas wells.
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of the flow assurance techniques, programs, and operational procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety practices, and environmental standards.
  • Experience with interpretation of cased hole production and diagnostic logs.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills in a multidisciplined environment. International experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, field staff and management. Software Knowledge/ Experience
