As a Projects & Business Support Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the implementation of complex, and strategic projects related to customer experience transformation across Product Development & Design (PDD) to ensure that project objectives, KPls are achieved within the agreed schedule. The Project Manager will be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, from in-depth research and analytics against strategy definition, design thinking, end-to-end implementation, and product communication. Also responsible for introducing project management best practices including new technology to enable more efficient and effective project design, tracking, visibility and accountability across division.

Other key responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for the planning, tactical execution and tracking of all major projects under strict project timelines by directing and managing multiple projects from inception to completion.
  • Projects shall cover all aspects of product innovation, design and branding, aircraft standards, service design and hospitality, culinary, IFEC and digital transformation.
  • Manage quality control throughout the project life cycle by maintaining delivery timelines, mitigating project risks, and act as a liaison with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective change management. Develop project monitoring and program management mechanism and toolkits for the division for improved collaboration.
  • Drive a change in project management methodology, introducing a more agile approach with greater accountability, that is solution-focused and with the customer at the heart of everything we do.
  • Work closely with the Management team to solve business unit project challenges, redefining processes, developing support tools, and providing project level guidance.
  • Work alongside all internal stakeholders within the division and across wider QR group stakeholders on cross functional project status, communication channels from kick off to delivery.
  • Consolidate and deliver periodic management reports and presentations capturing information on timelines and project completeness.
  • Develop the project governance structure and implementing the relevant mechanisms including a risk management structure. Oversees the creation of suitable risks register for any project and ensures that mitigation actions are identified to deliver the projects.
  • Create detailed process documentation and guidelines to ensure consistency and ease of replication. Engage with other divisions within Qatar Airways group, external stakeholders, vendors and suppliers to ensure that the sequence for execution of works, resources deployment and information necessary for successful progression of projects, is available and reported as required, to ensure adherence to the project baselines, providing feedback to project teams accordingly.
  • Responsible for management of cross functional project documentation and correspondences, drawings, procedures, change orders, letters and provide feedback to division head.
  • Support senior management within the department in business case development, exploring the risks, benefits, costs and scope of the project.
  • Support the business in breaking down complex processes, designing and generating new ideas through collaborative sessions i.e., workshops, mind mapping.
  • Attend weekly and monthly forums (SteerCo, Weekly Progress Review etc.) on behalf of, or while accompanying SVP PDD, and present project progress if required.
  • Gather relevant data to measure the performance of current processes, and use data-driven insights to propose improvements.
  • Monitor expenditure and provide assistance in budget preparation, ensuring all initiatives are managed within their budget.
Qualifications

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join the Product Development & Design department

  • Min. Diploma, Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in project management
  • Proven experience of coordinating projects while taking complete ownership / accountability for specific activities.
  • Ability to use project toolkits such as Miro.
  • Aviation experience.
  • Proven experience of preparing presentations and presenting to senior management level audience
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, motivated and highly organized
