Manager/Senior Manager Sustainable Finance & Reporting – CCaSS - MENA

The EY Climate Change & Sustainability Services (CCaSS) Team is looking for a market-facing talented Manager/Senior Manager for the Financial Services Sector who will work with the larger, seamlessly connected MENA CCaSS team in shaping the climate change and sustainability agenda in the region. We are looking for self-driven candidates with an entrepreneurial drive wanting to focus on impact opportunities and being a part of a larger change. The candidates will be working on innovative solutions, flagship initiatives, and projects in the MENA region with extensive opportunities to travel to key locations and interact with global leaders on climate change and sustainability.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will work as part of a wider team to support business development efforts, win project work, and advise EY's clients on delivering end-to-end projects in the financial sector. In addition, you will contribute to the development of a market-leading team that is capable of providing board-level strategic advice and winning large transformation engagements that leverage the wider competencies of EY as well as raise EY's profile in the market, especially in relation to the climate change and sustainability debates.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Strong technical understanding of various ESG reporting frameworks (preferred frameworks GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, UNPRI, UNPRB, UNGC, and upcoming IFRS S1 and S2) and how to apply them to corporate sustainability reports.
  • Technical knowledge and experience of delivering multiple materiality concepts – impact, financial, double materiality.
  • Experience in undertaking gap assessments of current ESG disclosure practices, ESG policy analyses, and developing roadmaps and action plans to enhance disclosure; deep understanding of sustainability best practices in areas of transformation, supply chain, digitization, business model innovation, and value measurement.
  • Prior experience in leading or delivering sustainable finance solutions in a global consulting firm or with a multinational financial institution.
  • Technical understanding and working experience of origination, structuring, and execution of sustainable finance transactions across Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance, etc.
  • Contributed to the development of sustainable finance frameworks for banking institutions.
  • Knowledge of key Sustainable Finance principles from ICMA, LMA, CBI, EU Taxonomy, etc.

Ideally you will also have:

  • Graduate or Postgraduate, any discipline, though Sustainability, Economics, and MBA degrees are preferred.
  • At least 5 years of banking/financial services experience, preferably in Institutional Banking clients.
  • Prior experience in leading or delivering sustainable finance solutions in a global consulting firm or with a multinational financial institution.
