Sub-Business Unit Overview: Deals Advisory

Deals Advisory helps clients see beyond immediate challenges to future opportunities. By giving clients the confidence to make the right decision at the right time, we empower businesses with the tools to drive strategic change.

Role Overview

The candidate will manage and engage in deal advisory projects through the entire project cycle (from client introduction to delivery and managing a team of juniors) with key focus on projects related to feasibility transactions, financial modelling, project financing, business plan forecasting… The candidate will also contribute to the planning and delivery of engagements including work plans, timelines, project management and resource allocation. The candidate may manage small engagements depending on experience and business area Builds and maintain strong relationships with middle to senior level staff internally and externally.

Primary Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Perform detailed reviews of financial models, arrive at preliminary conclusions, and prepare a report of findings.
  • Develop financials models by customizing the in-house templates and building be-spoke financial models based on client requirement. Update existing models to incorporate new functionalities (additional calculations in the models).
  • At times assists Managers and Associate Directors to supervise less experienced team members on engagements–reviewing and providing guidance on deliverables.
  • Completes report writing, presentations and proposal preparation with some guidance.
  • Attends client meetings and learns to facilitate internal/client discussions via seeking and sharing perspectives.
  • Develops and starts to demonstrate expertise and knowledge of a variety of clients and markets, and awareness of KPMG's service offerings.
  • Develops external network and continues to develop knowledge of industry, market trends, competitor activity and products/services.
  • Contributes to the development of case studies, proposals, deliverables, or other valuable engagement knowledge. Ensures such knowledge is recorded appropriately to enable access and use by others within the firm.
  • Executes deliverables to a level that meet member firm's Quality standards within a commercial context.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in management consulting
  • Must have advanced financial modelling skills with exposure to build models for infrastructure projects, debt financing …
  • Preferably have worked with global financial modelling hubs or delivery center or a financial modelling team of a big 4
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in client-facing environments, collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to effectively convey complex ideas and results.
  • Business acumen with a focus on value creation, decision facilitation, and project management.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders, contribute to challenging projects, and meet aggressive timelines.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a dynamic consulting environment.
  • Certifications in relevant area of expertise are highly recommended
