We are looking for an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer with expertise in PLC,
HMI, and SCADA programming, as well as testing and commissioning across industries
such as Water and Wastewater, HVAC, and Oil & Gas. The ideal candidate is self-reliant,
capable of independently handling tasks, and committed to staying updated on
emerging technologies. Strong technical proficiency and excellent customer service
skills are essential for effectively managing departmental and divisional operations.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Program and execute test plans to ensure the reliability andfunctionality of automation systems.
Design and implement automation solutions tailored to client needs.
Field Site Testing & Commissioning
Participate in the FAT & SAT of automation systems at client sites.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including functional designspecifications, I/O lists, C&E matrix, FAT, SAT & O&M etc.
Understand the scope/process clearly before starting programdevelopment.
To ensure the client is aligned with the work to be done with properdocumentation and, hence, optimize the time consumed for programdevelopment.
Understand project timeline and adhere to the same.
Understand project costing and complete it within the allocated budget.
Utilizing manhours effectively and ensuring each and all hours are billable.
Understand and utilize proper software versions and programming toolsand maintain backups of programs in an orderly with revisions.
Develop programs with proper comments and revision details, ensuring easy usage for successive users.
Develop/utilize standardized blocks to ensure uniformity in theorganization.
Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for automation systems.
Understand specific needs or requirements of the task and apply skills orknowledge on the job.
Responsible for processing medium to high-complexity tasks as per thedefined standards.
Documents procedures, root cause analysis and recommendations for alltasks performed.
Work closely with sales and project teams to understand client requirementsand develop appropriate solutions
Must have Resilience and persistence to work on challenging assignments.
Very good interpersonal, consulting, and technical presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of organizational skills.
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, along with stronginterpersonal abilities.
- Applicants must possess a high level of proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as P&ID, C&E, FDS, Projectspecification, QCS specification, ILD, MST, System architecture, Operating
- and maintenance manuals.
- Technical expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, Historian system, Networkcomponents (Switches, FOC)
- Technical knowledge, expertise, and capabilities to read and understandStructural text programs, VB scripting and SQL.
- Strong software coding skills with Ladder logic, Functional block drawingand Structural Text are preferred
- Strong understanding of industrial protocols such as Modbus, Profibus,Profinet, and Ethernet/IP
- Knowledge of Data Logging on Historian server or SQL server
- Knowledge of PLC Redundancy configuration
- Knowledge of SCADA Server and client configuration
- Knowledge of Report generation from the Historian server
- Experience in the Process Industry is a must.
Experience:
- At least 5 to 6 years of practical experience with Rockwell systems, includingbut not limited to Micro 850, Control Logix, Compact Logix, Studio 5000,and Factory Talk View SE, is required. Candidates with a background in theProcess Industry, specifically in Water and Wastewater, HVAC, or Oil & Gas,will be preferred.
Education & Certification:
- Technical School Graduation / Diploma in Engineering (Instrumentation /Electronics / Industrial automation or related field).
