About the Role

We are seeking Senior Lecturers / Lecturers in Mechanical Engineering to teach, mentor, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our programmes. The role requires both academic and professional engagement, fostering student success and advancing the University’s strategic goals.

Requirements

About You

• Deliver and assess undergraduate modules in MechanicalEngineering and related areas
• Develop and update teaching materials in line withcurrent academic and industry developments.
• Contribute to the design, validation, and enhancementof academic programmes.
• Prepare and moderate assessments in accordance withLJMU academic regulations and assessment frameworks.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects andprovide academic mentoring to students.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities alignedwith theUniversity’s strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with industry partners and advisory boardsto enhance programme relevance.
• Contribute to the delivery of continuing professionaldevelopment (CPD) and short courses.
• Participate in academic committees, departmentalmeetings, and institutional initiatives.
• Commit to continuous professional development andsupport the university’s growth and quality enhancement strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

• A PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closelyrelated discipline.
• Proven experience in teaching and research at theUniversity level.
• Exposure to Mechatronics, preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills inEnglish.
• Evidence of commitment to high-quality teaching,learning, and student success.
• Ability to work effectively both independently andwithin a team environment.
• A track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewedpublications.
• Experience in curriculum design, module leadership, andquality assurance.
• Experience supervising research projects atundergraduate or postgraduate level.
• Engagement in consultancy, innovation, or appliedindustry projects.
• Involvement in programme development or accreditationprocesses.
