Your Role

Are you a talented DevOps engineer aiming to develop and monitor cloud infrastructures? Do you have passion for reliability, scalability, and performance in software? We are looking for someone who will:

  • Actively take part in creating strategy for our DevOps and SRE team, help expand it and drive it towards completing their objectives.
  • Create trusted pipelines of work from development through to production environments utilizing a high degree of automation.
  • Build and optimize the DevOps platform to enable developers and engineers to be as productive as possible.
  • Set up new and migrate existing applications to the Cloud (Azure) in a truly Cloud Native way.
  • Work closely with developers, SREs, and other DevOps Engineers in a DevOps team and across teams to improve their scores across all of the DORA metrics.
  • Ensure that proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to deliver high quality software.
  • Actively take part in our Software Engineering communities, sharing your knowledge, and helping others.
Your Team

You'll be part of the Client Self Service crew where we work according to Agile@UBS. It represents the new way of working at UBS with the aim to quickly develop innovative solutions and to digitize key client products end to end. In this crew, you will be working in one of our 10 agile teams focused on building digital self-service solutions for existing and prospective clients. Our teams have a proven track record of being first to market and having direct client impact by evolving our solutions accessed by thousands of users every day. Your Expertise
  • Bachelor's in computer science or any other related area with at least 15+ years of overall experience.
  • Ideally, you already have leadership experience and see yourself as an inspiring leader as well as coach and enabler.
  • Ready to lead by example, taking a hands-on and proactive approach.
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts such as CI/CD and the importance and value of automated testing.
  • Direct experience in setting up, further developing, and monitoring cloud infrastructures (ideally using one or more of: Azure Cloud Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Databricks, Azure DevOps).
  • Proven knowledge of UNIX/Linux and familiarity with networking (NAT, DNS, firewalls, basic routing, load balancing, etc.).
  • Experience in source code management with git, knowledge of GitLab (and GitLab API) and Maven dependency management.
  • Working with Container orchestration (preferably Kubernetes/AKS) and experience with Configuration Management tools (preferably Ansible).
  • Automating using programming & scripting Languages – ideally at least one of Python, Groovy, Kotlin, shell scripts or bash.
  • Application security setup (SSH, certificates, Oauth 2.0, Hashicorp Vault).
  • Application monitoring and observability (using one of Splunk, Prometheus Grafana, Azure Monitor).
  • Understanding the value of diversity in the workplace and is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Proficient command of English.
