Your Role

Are you a talented DevOps engineer aiming to develop and monitor cloud infrastructures? Do you have a passion for reliability, scalability, and performance in software? With your technical expertise you will:

  1. Actively take part in creating strategy for our DevOps and SRE team, help expand it and drive it towards completing their objectives.
  2. Create trusted pipelines of work from development through to production environments utilizing a high degree of automation.
  3. Build and optimize the DevOps platform to enable developers and engineers to be as productive as possible.
  4. Setup new and migrate existing applications to the Cloud (Azure) in a truly Cloud Native way.
  5. Work closely with developers, SREs, and other DevOps Engineers in a DevOps team and across teams to improve their scores across all of the DORA metrics.
  6. Lead by example, taking a hands-on and proactive approach.
  7. Ensure that proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to deliver high-quality software.
  8. Actively take part in our Software Engineering communities, sharing your knowledge and helping others.
Your Team

You will join the Client Self Service crew where we work according to Agile@UBS. It represents the new way of working at UBS with the aim to quickly develop innovative solutions and to digitize key client products end to end. In this crew, you will be working in one of our 10 agile teams focused on building digital self-service solutions for existing and prospective clients. Our teams have a proven track record of being first to market and having direct client impact by evolving our solutions accessed by thousands of users every day.

Your Expertise
  1. Bachelor in Computer Science or any other related area, or proven relevant working experience and proficient command of English.
  2. Direct experience in setting up, further developing, and monitoring cloud infrastructures (ideally using one or more of: Azure Cloud Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Databricks, Azure DevOps and confirmed with Azure Certification i.e. AZ-400).
  3. Familiarity with networking (NAT, DNS, firewalls, basic routing, load balancing, etc.).
  4. Experience in source code management with git, knowledge of GitLab (and GitLab API) and Maven dependency management, configuration Management tools (preferably Ansible).
  5. Automating using programming & scripting languages – ideally at least one of Python, Groovy, Kotlin, shell scripts or bash.
  6. Application monitoring and observability (using one of Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor), application security setup (SSH, certificates, Oauth 2.0, Hashicorp Vault).
  7. Ideally you will also have (or be willing to eagerly learn it using our vast educational opportunities): Kafka and/or MQs.
  8. Software, build or release engineering for Java applications as well as building UI application packages with npm and Node.js.
