About the role

The Business Development & IT Change Manager is responsible for ensuring that new systems that are acquired, developed or adjusted are fit for purpose, adequately scoped, and effectively implemented into the business environment. Act as the main interface between the technical resources within the IT team and the larger business environment. The role will also take lead on change management initiatives to ensure adoption of systems and processes are effective and efficient. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in system capability, this role will explore business development opportunities, especially as it relates to e-commerce functionality in the system/s which supports the overall business strategy.

Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Apply a structured methodology and lead IT change management activities, set up service level agreements with key IT/IS functions that support prompt resolution of service-related issues and development and implementation of new systems and upgrades.
  2. Conduct impact analysis, assess change readiness, identify key stakeholders, and hold people accountable to ensure effective delegation and monitoring delivery of IT projects and IT related activities for business improvement.
  3. Develop and implement an IS project plan that supports the strategy.
  4. Identify and recommend service enhancements and/or cost-saving efficiencies.
  5. Liaise effectively with HOD and other staff to ensure business and user needs are identified and incorporated into IT initiatives.
  6. Work with IT project managers for assigned projects, including taking responsibility for core IT systems/modules for business rules administration, user access, and monitoring. Agree on shared accountabilities, ensuring effective project planning and monitoring.
  7. Ensure UAT (User Acceptance Testing) is completed and signed off, and both training and implementation phases of projects are delivered on-time and efficiently with minimal disruption to the business.
  8. Provide regular feedback to IT teams on the functional non-conformities or issues related to business system usage and jointly plan with IT teams on the resolution of the concerns or additional improvements.
  9. Keep abreast of the latest and future technical developments that may deliver competitive advantage and/or improve core business activities.
  10. In conjunction with department champions, ensure correct usage of systems and implementations of agreed/defined processes, including process audits.
  11. Responsible for documenting the requirements for systems enhancements to meet requirements such as regulations, improved controls, efficiency, support growth, and to standardize processes.
  12. Identify IT changes and processes that deliver strategic objectives and scope these changes with the relevant business and IT stakeholders to ensure a fit for purpose system that delivers on the key objectives.
  13. Create and deliver a comprehensive change strategy to support adoption of any system or process changes.
  14. Explore and evaluate any new business opportunities (especially e-commerce) in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  2. Minimum of 6 years of job-related experience
  3. Experience supporting deployment of complex enterprise initiatives – preferably in change management, organizational development and/or project management.
  4. Experience in business with emphasis on strategic alignment/stakeholder management.
  5. Familiarity with project and change management approaches, methodologies, and tools.

  3. Excellent computing/IT/Interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical QR staff at all levels.

  7. Managerial skills - ability to delegate work, set direction, and manage workflow
