Job Description

The University of Doha for Science and Technology is inviting nominations and applications for the position of a Projects Senior Specialist in the Office of the President. Reporting to the President of UDST, the Projects Senior Specialist must be a strong individual with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Office of the President in steering strategic projects and supporting the implementation of the University's mission and vision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position requires a tactical individual who will be aligned with the vision of the President of UDST, and serve as a focal point for all projects led by the Office of the President; providing recommendations to aid the decision-making process in relation to special projects, and ensuring that strategic tasks, initiatives and projects are in line with the applicable requirements and standards. The successful incumbent will plan, develop and coordinate projects led by the Office of the President, and oversee the implementation of short and long-term projects as required. S/he will ensure adherence to the project management framework, oversee project budget compliance, monitor project progress, draft high-level project analysis and reports, manage project governance compliance, and handle any other project management related duties as directed by the President. The successful incumbent will play the role of a key liaison between the President and Business Unit Heads to ensure seamless planning, development and implementation of projects at the University, in alignment with the mission and vision of the institution.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or relevant field required
  2. Master's Degree preferred
  3. Professional certification such as PMP preferred

Experience:

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience is required, with at least 3 years in project management.

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.

Other Required Skills:

  • Strategic outlook with robust project management skills
  • Change management, concern for order and quality and service excellence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
