What You Will Do

The Senior Project Manager is a key role directly reporting to the Regional Operations Manager for the Middle East region. You will be based in Qatar and will be a part of a team responsible for the execution of Fire and Gas detection system and Protection System projects within the Oil & Gas sector in the Qatar region. You will need to monitor the assigned engineering projects, review in compliance with NFPA codes & practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, specifications, and interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field. As a member of the team, you will work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for you to use your experience to support the team with pre-sales/estimation.

How You Will Do It

As an experienced Senior Project Manager, you should have expertise in project execution and complex knowledge of designing Fire and Gas systems, firefighting solutions including Fire Protection (water-based systems), Gas Suppression, and Foam systems within the Oil & Gas Sector in the Middle East region. You have to:

  1. Initiate and respond to contractual issues throughout the contract.
  2. Monitor project progress and prepare project progress reports and represent the company in client project, quality, and HSE meetings.
  3. Be responsible for formal (letter)/ informal (verbal) communication with clients and for invoicing processing and collection of payments from clients.
  4. Prepare technical submittals and submit them to clients and be responsible for the production and issuance of design drawings/calculations.
  5. Prepare and comply with the project quality plan and Inspection & Test Plans, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
  6. Be responsible for the production of a fully resourced program in line with the contract agreement.
  7. Ensure key milestone dates are met; if delays occur, develop a plan to bring the project back on track.
  8. Manage all allocated staff and resources to complete the project on time and be responsible for requests for resources within the budgeted allowance.
  9. Develop and train allocated staff.
  10. Be conversant with company and client QHSE policies/procedures and ensure that operatives understand and implement them in their responsible areas.
  11. Liaise with QA/QC and HSE managers on all aspects of Quality and HSE.
  12. Ensure complete project data/records are archived after project completion and forwarded to the IS dept. for effective archiving.
  13. Ensure non-conformities in materials/products are dealt with in accordance with applicable management system procedures and appropriate corrective and preventive actions taken to prevent recurrence/occurrence of non-conformities.
  14. Ensure needed inspections and tests of products are performed, and inspection & test records maintained prior to products handover to customers.

What We Look For

  1. Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  2. 13-18 years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical project management in Fire Protection/Fire Detection.
  3. Must have experience in the GCC market with exposure to Oil and Gas sector clients such as Qatar Energy & Qatar Gas handling Fire Fighting and Fire Alarm EPC projects.
  4. Strong technical knowledge of Fire and Gas systems, Fire Protection (water-based systems)/Gas Suppression/Foam/special hazard protection.
  5. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  6. Knowledge of project cost management, revenue generation, and invoicing to customers.
  7. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  8. Fluency in the English language is essential.
  9. Driving License with the ability to travel.
