We are looking for Lead Cost Managers with real estate experience to join our Qatar team.

Job Description
  1. Responsible for pre and post-contract quantity surveying duties including preparation of cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
  2. Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  3. Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  4. Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
  5. Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager.
  6. Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place.
  7. Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  8. Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
  9. Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  10. Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities.
Key Experience Requirements
  1. Detailed knowledge of and experience in Real Estate sector working for a professional cost consultancy.
  2. Excellent measurement capability for real estate/building works, accuracy and efficiency are essential.
  3. Experience of interim applications, change management, variation valuation and extension of time claims.
  4. Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
  5. Detailed experience of working with standard form contracts, FIDIC preferred, and administration of contract procedures.
  6. Demonstrable experience in client-facing roles, professional approach and confidence in presenting to clients, other consultants and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
  1. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  2. Preferably MRICS.
  3. Minimum 10 years' experience in similar roles.
  4. Good Pre contract experience.
  5. Experience in the Middle East is preferable.
  6. Proven track record of delivering service excellence to multiple clients.
  7. Ability to drive the commercial agenda for the project, chair commercial meetings and clearly articulate themselves be it written or orally.
  8. Knowledge of Cost X preferred.
