The People and Development team is responsible for attracting, recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing employees to ensure that they provide high-quality services to the guests. The team plays a significant role in ensuring that all employees are motivated and productive, and that all processes are in compliance with the labor law.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Director of People & Development / Director of Human Resources to join our team at The Ned Doha. The role is to lead the daily operations of P&D/HR, as well as the management and development of the P&D / HR team.

As Director of People & Development, working with us entails the following:

  • Strategic HR Planning: Develop and implement the hotel's human resources strategies, policies, and procedures in line with the overall organizational goals and objectives. Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management on HR-related matters.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Oversee the hotel's recruitment and selection process, including advertising job vacancies, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions. Ensure that the hotel has a qualified and diverse workforce.
  • Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations by developing and implementing effective employee engagement programs, policies, and initiatives. Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Performance Management: Develop and administer performance management systems, including performance appraisals, goal setting, and performance improvement plans. Provide guidance and support to managers in effectively managing employee performance.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs, design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Coordinate with department managers to ensure that employees receive appropriate training and development opportunities.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Oversee the hotel's compensation and benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the same role at a luxury property
  • Hands-on, enthusiastic and motivational are words which describe you best
  • Ability to lead, multi-task and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • IT skills such as using HR and recruitment systems, Outlook, office systems and touchscreen devices
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to build and develop a motivated and dedicated team
