The Defense Programs Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering generic and specialized training programs specifically tailored to military and civilian personnel. This role requires extensive knowledge of military programs, operations, and procedures, as well as expertise in curriculum design and delivery. The Defense Programs Specialist will work closely with leadership and individuals to assess training needs, develop appropriate curriculum, and deliver engaging and effective training sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver generic and specialized training programs specifically tailored to military and civilian personnel.
  2. Set up learning strategy and short- and long-term training plans specialized in general defense knowledge training.
  3. Work closely with leadership and teams to assess training needs and identify performance gaps.
  4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, defense personnel, and subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and up to date.
  5. Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in defense programs and training methodologies.
  6. Conduct thorough analysis of defense programs and operations to determine training requirements.
  7. Design and develop training materials and programs based on identified needs and develop a suite of short online training curriculum contents.
  8. Develop comprehensive training curricula, incorporating relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  9. Create instructional materials, including presentations, handouts, and training manuals.
  10. Facilitate training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques, such as presentations, demonstrations, case studies, and simulations.
  11. Analyze training evaluation results and provide recommendations for program enhancements.
Requirements
  1. 8-10 years extensive experience in related field.
  2. Bachelor degree in Defense Studies, Education, or Instructional Design is preferred.
  3. Extensive experience in defense programs, operations, or related fields.
  4. Strong knowledge of defense policies, procedures, and regulations.
  5. Proven experience in instructional design and training delivery.
  6. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  9. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and training software/tools.
  12. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development of training programs for military and civilian personnel.
  13. Demonstrated knowledge in the application of education theories.
  14. Ability to perform a learning needs analysis.
  15. Demonstrated competence to implement, assess and evaluate adult learning.
  16. Demonstrated capacity to use and facilitate multifaceted modalities of learning including e-learning.
  17. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
