Job Opportunity: Materials Coordinator

Location: Onshore Operations, Doha, Qatar

We are seeking an experienced Materials Coordinator to support the Planned Shutdown activities within an established Oil & Gas or Petrochemical environment. This role is crucial to ensuring that materials are efficiently tracked, monitored, and available for shutdown activities, in alignment with operational timelines and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Planning & Coordination: Create new material codes as per requirements using Master Data Governance (MDG) and identify materials needed for shutdown activities. Assist in SAP reservations and ensure that materials are available on time.
  • Procurement Support: Assist with material technical evaluations related to the shutdown scope, and work closely with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) to handle stock transfers, purchase requisitions, and material procurement.
  • Inventory Management: Track material stock, purchase orders (POs), and procurement details throughout the process. Keep stakeholders informed through procurement status reports and coordinate with the procurement team for any issues.
  • Consolidated Reporting: Prepare and present consolidated material reports for shutdown management and coordination meetings, as well as tracking progress against shutdown milestones.
  • Material Inspection & Quality Control: Coordinate the inspection of incoming materials with the QA/QC section and assist with the inspection process as needed. Ensure materials meet quality standards before dispatching to the site.
  • Workshop Coordination: Work with the workshop to execute valve testing, overhauling, fabrication, and calibration work as per pre- and post-shutdown schedules.
  • Shutdown Milestone Tracking: Assist in verifying and tracking materials during key shutdown milestones and ensure all materials are physically verified, palletised, and staged accordingly.
  • Red Zone Material Coordination: Develop and finalise the Red Zone Material list in coordination with planners, purchasing, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Requirements: High National Diploma (HND) in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years' experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, with a proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of Material Specifications and International Codes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard office software. Experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Coordination Skills: Strong ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders across different functions, ensuring smooth operations.
