About the Job

  1. Detail Engineering
  • Preparation and checking of Instrument drawings including Instrument cable block diagram, Instrument Location layout drawing, Control room Layout drawing, Instrument wiring diagram, Loop Diagram, Instrument Hook-up Diagram, MCT drawing, Cable routing and trench layout drawings, Bill Of Materials, Instrument Earthing Diagram, System Architecture diagram, Cause & Effect Diagram, Functional Logic Diagram, and Level sketches.
  • Preparation and checking of Instrument schedule, Cable schedule, System Input/Output list, Alarm and trip Schedule.
  • Inputs to deliverables by various other departments including Cable Trench layout, offshore oil production platform layouts, structural weight control report, electrical power consumption list for Instrumentation, and air consumption and utility report.
  • Inter-discipline review of deliverables from other departments such as P&ID, Plot plan, Piping GA drawings, Equipment layouts, Electrical single line diagrams, HVAC duct layouts, Hazardous area classification drawings, F&G Layout drawings, and F&G C&E Diagram.
  • Input to 3D modelling, extraction to 2D and 3D model review.
  • Input to INtools and report generation.
  • Technical review of offers for Instrument Bulk items.
  • Vendor drawing review for instruments & packages.
  • Data retrieval, Site survey & site survey reports generation.
  • Response to Site technical queries and Site commissioning Support.
  • Secondment to Client office if required.

Experience

  • Feasibility study, FEED, Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering with reputed detailed Engineering Contractors.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas projects, Offshore.
  • Onshore instrumentation design and selection of Flow, Pressure, Level, and Temperature measuring elements, Transmitters, Control valves, ESD Valves, Partial stroking systems, Blowdown valves, MOV, Tank gauging systems, PRV, PCV, Foundation fieldbus, Serial Communication, Fiber optic communication, F&G Instruments, and Bulk Materials.
  • Selection of Instruments for Hazardous area applications and Instrument signal grouping.
  • Experience with offshore special instrumentation such as WHCP, ICSS, RTU, SCADA, DHG, MPFM, Hydraulic Power Unit, Choke valve, and Sub-sea Umbilical cable.
  • Control and Safety Systems (DCS, ESD/SIS, F&G).
  • Familiarity with international standards applicable for Instrumentation like AGA, API, ASME, ASTM, BS, IEC, IEEE, ISA, ISO, NACE, and NFPA.
  • Familiarization with Client standards such as SHELL DEP, QP, TOTAL, NOC, and QATARGAS.

Specific Skills Required

  • Proficiency in ACAD & Microstation.
  • Experience with SPI (Intools) - Minimum 1 project independently.
  • Experience with AVEVA Instrumentation - Minimum 1 project independently (Nice to have).
  • Experience with 3D (E3D & SP3D) Modelling - Minimum 1 project independently.
  • Experience with offshore site surveys as part of detailed engineering.
  • Experience with Brownfield and Greenfield Oil & Gas projects detailed engineering.
  • Experience working with MNC companies for detailed engineering.

Educational Qualification

  • Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation.
  • 5-12 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reports functionally to the Lead Discipline Engineer and is responsible for planning and executing the design work in order to meet the project schedule.
  • Input to weekly progress reports and maintains manhour log.
  • Maintains records of Quality check prints and Master copy for Quality Audits.
  • Definition of tasks and supervision of personnel such as designers and draftsmen assigned to the team, including checking of drawings produced.
  • Checking and commenting on drawings issued by other disciplines as well as Vendor drawings wherever applicable.
  • Co-ordination within and with other disciplines.
