The Telecom System Specialist supportsthe Site Construction and Commissioning teams in planning, executing,verifying, documenting and handing over Telecom and Infrastructure systems inaccordance with project requirements, approved procedures, contractual standards,inspection and test plans, quality requirements and HSE rules. The mainresponsibility of the Telcom Specialist is to ensure that installation,pre-commissioning, commissioning, integration tests and final handover areperformed safely, on schedule and with complete technical documentation.
Duties and responsibilities
Supportthe review of Telecom engineering deliverables, vendor documents, procedures,method statements, inspection records and test forms to verify theirsuitability for site execution, pre-commissioning, commissioning andhandover.
Supportthe planning of Telecom site activities, coordinating priorities,constraints, readiness checks, interfaces and required permits withConstruction, Commissioning, E&I, Automation/Control Systems, vendors,subcontractors and the Owner team.
Verifythat Telecom activities are executed in compliance with approved drawings,specifications, contractual requirements, company/project standards, ITPs,quality procedures, work instructions and HSE rules.
Followup and support field installation for Telecom and Infrastructure systems, PublicAddress and General Alarm System, Process CCTV System, Local/Wide AreaNetwork, Structured Cabling System, Fiber Optic Network, Radio Systems,Intrusion Detection System, Security CCTV System, Access Control System,Telephone System, interfaces with other systems (e.g. Fire and Gas System),related servers, workstations, cabinets/racks, any active network equipmentand associated power/network connections.
Coordinateand witness, as required, inspections and tests for cable pulling, fiber andcopper terminations, OTDR/continuity/insulation checks, cabinet installation,equipment mounting, power-up, configuration, network connectivity and systemintegration.
Supportpre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including SAT/ISAT,functional tests, cause-and-effect or interface verification, integrationwith control/security systems, communication checks, redundancy/failovertests, performance verification, troubleshooting, start-up assistance andoperational readiness.
Ensureproper management of punch lists, non-conformities, technical queries, fieldchanges, red-line/marked-up drawings and close-out actions, promoting timelyresolution with Engineering, vendors and subcontractors.
Assistin managing vendor specialists and subcontractor teams, ensuring effectivefield execution, alignment with project schedule, availability ofmaterials/tools/spares and timely completion of test records and vendordocumentation.
Provide technical support toConstruction and Commissioning teams for troubleshooting, corrective actionsand site modifications, escalating engineering issues when required andensuring that final solutions remain aligned with design intent and project requirements.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications
University Degree orDiploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.
Experience
Significant experience inthe industrial construction of large or XL gas plants.
Covered a similar role inat least 2-3 projects of comparable size.
Aminimum of 7-8 years of relevant experience.
