- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair light and heavy vehicles.
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance according to work schedules.
- Repair engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, steering systems, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Diagnose and repair fuel, cooling, lubrication, exhaust, and air-intake systems.
- Troubleshoot vehicle electrical faults involving batteries, alternators, starters, wiring, lights, sensors, and control systems.
- Carry out engine tune-ups, oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid-level checks.
- Use diagnostic scanners, multimeters, pressure gauges, and workshop testing equipment.
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace, and reassemble defective components.
- Conduct road tests and functional checks after completing repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts replaced, and completed work orders.
- Report recurring defects, unsafe vehicle conditions, and major repair requirements.
- Safely use vehicle lifts, jacks, stands, hoists, and other garage equipment.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and proper housekeeping within the garage.
- Follow LOTO, environmental, safety, quality, and waste-disposal procedures.

Requirements
- Technical Diploma, ITI, or recognized trade certificate in Automobile, Diesel, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant auto-mechanic experience in a garage, industrial plant, transport company, or heavy-vehicle workshop.
- Experience maintaining both petrol and diesel vehicles is preferred.
- Knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
- Experience with cars, buses, pickup trucks, heavy vehicles, and industrial transport vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to read workshop manuals, wiring diagrams, fault codes, and technical specifications.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and garage equipment.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle air-conditioning systems is an advantage.
- Good troubleshooting, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of garage safety, vehicle lifting, LOTO, and environmental procedures.
- Physically fit and capable of working in an industrial garage environment.
- Ability to communicate in English and work independently or as part of a team.
- A valid driving licence is preferred.
