About the role:

As Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service in all areas of kitchen operations by ensuring efficient and professional processing of passenger requirements. You will act as an ambassador for the Qatar Airways premium product and demonstrate the importance of upholding the highest personal and professional standards while maintaining a positive and passionate attitude towards Qatar Airways customers.

  • Perform daily operational tasks as per standard operating procedures (e.g., setting up buffets and kitchen areas).
  • Ensure that product knowledge of all food items served is attained to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Responsible for marshalling and providing guidance to the 2nd Commis Chefs on duty.
  • Provide operational updates and communicate daily instances to the Chef de Partie.
  • Participate in the preparation of menu items and actively engage in the presentation of buffets.
  • Work collectively and amicably with various team members to ensure a positive team environment.
  • Maintain the visual appearance of the kitchen area by reporting faulty equipment or items.
  • Assist teams in the preparation of certain food items as directed by the Demi Chef De Partie.
  • Ensure that all kitchen stocks are utilized on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis to prevent expiration of items.
  • Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • High School Qualification with a minimum of 1 year of job-related experience, or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with no prior job-related work experience.
  • Associate degree from a recognized university of culinary arts or similar would be beneficial.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a First Commis Chef.
  • Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
  • Awareness of employee training needs and qualifications.
  • Self-assess and self-recommend to the Demi Chef De Partie for any training needs.
