Functions as thestrategic business leader of the property's HotelOperations. Areas of responsibility may include Front Office, ,Recreation/Health Club, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage/Culinaryand Engineering/Maintenance. Position works with direct reports(department heads) to develop and implement departmental strategiesand ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brandinitiatives. The position ensures Hotel Operations meet thebrand’s standards, targets customer needs, ensuresemployee satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues and maximizesthe financial performance of the department and developing positiveowner relations. Develops and implements property-wide strategiesthat deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs andexpectations of the brand’s target customer and employeesand provides a return on investment. CANDIDATE PROFILE Educationand Experience • 2-year degree from an accrediteduniversity in Business Administration, Hotel and RestaurantManagement, or related major; 4 years experience in the guestservices, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing, managementoperations, or related professional area. OR • 4-yearbachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel andRestaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in theguest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing,management operations, or related professional area. CORE WORKACTIVITIES Managing Profitability • Demonstrates andcommunicates key drivers of guest satisfaction for thebrand’s target customer. • Analyzes serviceissues and identifies trends. • Makes and executes thenecessary decisions to keep property moving forward towardachievement of goals. • Works with hotel management teamto develop an operational strategy that is aligned with thebrand’s business strategy and leads its execution.Managing Revenue Goals • Monitors hotel operations salesperformance against budget. • Reviews reports andfinancial statements to determine hotel operations performanceagainst budget. • Coaches and supports operations team toeffectively manage occupancy & rate, wages and controllableexpenses. • Reviews the Wage Progress Report and comparesbudgeted wages to actual wages, coaching direct reports to addressproblem areas and holding team accountable for results. LeadingOperations and Department Teams • Champions thebrand’s service vision for product and service deliveryand ensures alignment amongst the hotel leadership teams.• Develops systems to enable employees to understand guestsatisfaction results. • Communicates a clear andconsistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desiredresults. Managing the Guest Experience • Reviews guestfeedback with leadership team and ensures appropriate correctiveaction is taken. • Responds to and handles guest problemsand complaints.
