Section Head of Clinical Training for College of HealthSciences

The candidate of this position will beresponsible to effectively work with multiple interfaces includingcollege of health sciences (departments heads, associate dean foracademic affairs, and dean); colleges under the QU-Health cluster(QU-health director of clinical education and heads of clinicaltraining for the College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine andCollege of Dentistry); and clinical training site (mainly, but notlimited to HMC). Responsibilities at College of Health Sciences• Works closely with departments’ clinicalcoordinators and oversee clinical training activities at thedepartment of human nutrition and department of biomedical sciencesand field training activities at the department of public health.• Direct the strategic planning for clinical training atcollege of health sciences. • Works with the Dean andassociated committees to develop a strategic academic plan tosupport the continued enhancement of the clinical training andlearning environment at CHS • Continuously evaluate theclinical training/field experience in the departments of CHSagainst each program’s objectives and other relevantbenchmarks • Establish a collaborative work between thethree departments at CHS as needed to meet respective mandates.• Identify, implement and assess various methods andtechnologies aimed at enhancing clinical skills leaning outcomes.• Work on the continuous improvement of the clinicaltraining/field experience quality at CHS. • Organizesseminars and workshops on teaching and learning enhancement incollaboration with the members of the Continuous ProfessionalDevelopment department at CHS. • Serves as the Chair ofthe clinical training committee at CHS. • Respond tostudent inquires via phone and/or email. • Maintain dataintegrity in student and hospital database ensuring schedules,rotations, contact information (students, hospitals, affiliates)are updated on regular basis. • Responsible for trackingcompletion of student course surveys in a timely manner. •Maintains accurate records regarding clinical placements on thedatabase system. • Other duties as assigned by the Dean.Responsibilities at QU-Health cluster • Represent CHS atQU-Health cluster. • Act as liaison between the collegeand QU health cluster clinical committee. • Seek possiblecollaboration and integrate clinical training resources at collegesof the QU-health cluster; College of Medicine and College ofPharmacy. • Serve in strategic planning for clinicaltraining in QU-health cluster in collaboration with heads ofclinical training at College of Pharmacy and College of Medicineand under direct supervision from QU-health associate dean forclinical education. • Seek research opportunities relatedto clinical education in colleges under QU-health cluster.• Serve in developing policies and procedures with thehealth cluster pertaining to clinical training as needed, tocomplement existing policies and procedures at the level of thecollege and University.
