Key Accountabilities:
Role Purpose

This position plays an essential role in enabling QM to deliver its overarching digital strategy and to meet its objective of producing robust, world-class digital experiences for both local and global audiences. The Quality Assurance Specialist is directly responsible for defining QM’s quality assurance procedures and overseeing and executing all the associated testing required across QM’s digital products and features before their release to the public. This would include preventing errors during development and production stages and the rigorous testing of products against agreed quality standards, so they are reliable, fully functional, and user-friendly by QM’s target audiences. In addition, the role will also ensure software is right for the market in which it will be released, is translated into the local language and is culturally compatible. The Quality Assurance Specialist will work closely with staff across Digital Products, Production and Content teams and will report directly to the Senior Technical Specialist.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Planning & Direction
- Writes production plans that minimize the risk of mistakes during production.
- Writes and reviews test plans, creates test plan automation procedures.
- Estimates time involved in assuring each product's quality.
- Owns the acceptance criteria for development, ensuring the criteria is met.
- Quality / Efficiency
- Produces documentation and guidelines to help maintain quality standards and accurate technical specifications.
- Performs stress tests that expose the product to real-world usage scenarios and/or works with IT to perform stress tests.
- Investigates causes of defects that occur during the testing phase.
- Suggests improvements to infrastructure and processes to prevent future mistakes during production.
- Applies technical skills related to the product being tested (knowledge of programming languages to software QA, knowledge of hardware, etc.).
- Conforms to regulations and international standards when it comes to testing and quality assurance, including accessibility compliance.
- Stakeholder Relations
- Works collaboratively with the digital product team to assess issues with existing products and brainstorm solutions.
- Collaborates with external development partners as needed.
- Assesses whether staff need training to prevent mistakes during production.
- Communicates with the Senior Technical Specialist and Head of Digital Products about existing defects and how to prevent them in future products.
- Communicates with team members within the Digital Products team, specific project managers and external agencies to coordinate scheduling for QA testing.
- Reports discovered defects to all relevant teams/ departments for correction.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Necessary knowledge to be able to do the job.
- Extensive technical and compliance knowledge.
- Demonstrated project management skills including risk assessment, resource and time management, and the ability to use a range of supportive digital project management and quality assurance tools.
- Ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders and effectively articulate and justify test estimates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent issue resolution and negotiating skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A critical and logical thinker with the ability to effectively troubleshoot.
- Commitment to resolving issues to ensure high-quality end products and experiences.

Essential
- Experience working in a fast-paced /Agile environment across product types.
- UAT and front-end testing experience with particular focus on 'look-and-feel' and compliance with essential user journey requirements.
- Knowledge and experience of software development lifecycle and methodologies (e.g., Agile, V-Model, Waterfall).
- ISTQB/ISEB Foundation or equivalent and/or extensive relevant working experience.
- Knowledge of bug-tracking software, such as JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, or Trello.

Desirable:

- Automation skills or desire to progress with automation.
- Specific software and programming knowledge — HTML, Java.

- 9 years of experience required.
