**Job Description: Sushi Chef**

**Position Overview**:We are seeking a talented and experienced Sushi Chef to join our culinary team and deliver an exceptional dining experience to our guests. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and crafting high-quality sushi and sashimi dishes with precision and creativity. Your expertise and attention to detail will play a vital role in maintaining the reputation of our restaurant as a destination for authentic and delectable Japanese cuisine.

**Responsibilities**:
**Sushi Preparation**: Prepare a wide variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes with consistent quality and precision.

**Ingredient Selection**: Source and select the freshest and highest-quality seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients required for sushi preparation.

**Knife Skills**: Demonstrate exceptional knife skills to expertly slice, dice, and prepare ingredients for sushi dishes.

**Menu Development**: Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and appealing sushi offerings that cater to diverse customer preferences and dietary requirements.

**Presentation**: Skillfully present dishes in an aesthetically pleasing and authentic manner, showcasing attention to detail and artistic flair.

**Food Safety and Hygiene**: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food preparation areas.

**Inventory Management**: Monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients, ensuring timely restocking and mínimal wastage.

**Workstation Maintenance**: Maintain a clean and organized sushi station, including the proper storage and maintenance of knives and other tools.

**Training and Mentorship**: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, ensuring consistent quality and technique across the team.

**Customer Interaction**: Engage with customers to provide insights about sushi offerings, offer recommendations, and cater to special requests while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a reputable restaurant or culinary establishment in Qatar or in any GCC country.
- Extensive knowledge of various sushi styles, cutting techniques, and presentation methods.
- Proficiency in selecting, handling, and storing seafood and other sushi ingredients.
- Exceptional knife skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong creativity and an eye for detail when it comes to food presentation.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing menus, ingredients, and customer preferences.
- Formal culinary education or apprenticeship in sushi preparation is a plus.
