About the role

As a MEP Draftsman, you will Support the Facilities Management Team in creation, revision and maintenance of available engineering - Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing drawings of Buildings and office space interior layouts by use of latest commonly available Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software such as AutoCAD and Revit.

Accountabilities:

- Design and create coordinated layouts, elevations, sections, renders, reflected ceiling plans and drawings mainly for MEP layouts based on the new office setup and or changes in the existing office space arrangement.
- Prepare/update the local authorities approved layouts of Architectural, MEP systems and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for obtaining approvals for revisions / changes.
- Prepare and update office space interior layouts including furniture arrangement as and when required maintaining accurate record / logs of drawings and info prepared / received.
- Provide technical blueprints / drawings developed on licensed software’s like ACAD, Revit etc. ensuring that drawings have essential information, such as formats, title block, notes, sketches, calculations, or dimensions.
- Creates plans and provides detailed technical drawings to Service Provider / appointed Contractor for quantity take off and outsourcing of work items.
- Provide CAD Support services to the Corporate Services Department for various building services as required.
- Obtain regular feedback from the line manager and facilities management team in commercial office buildings as well as for tasks assigned in Residential buildings.
- Work in a team with in-house SME’s, Interior Design Team and CAD engineers for execution and documentation of projects within or in vicinity of Properties of Qatar Airways.
- Liaise with Departmental colleagues, trade specialists, assigned contractors and third parties to update MEP Drawings and assist Design Engineers to update as built Architectural drawings of all buildings as directed by the Line Manager.
- Attend and participate in meetings with third parties as well as in house team as requested.
- Inspect or visit sites to update as built MEP drawings and Maintain record of drawings including but not limited to incoming as built Drawings, Authority approved drawings.
- Follow local authorities regulations, standards and specifications to prepare the MEP drawings and office space layouts.
- Review and ensure final layouts are compliant with local authorities regulations and relevant codes and standards such as NFPA.

Qualifications

About you

You will possess:

- Without a Degree:
High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on role with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience.

OR
- With a Degree:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience
- Knowledge of referring International and Local Regulations and Standards of MEP System.
- Excellent knowledge of BIM 360 and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) to prepare MEP drawings.
- Strong in construction drawing, detailing and good knowledge of materials and technical requirements;
- Excellent time management & coordination skills in order to handle competing deadlines
- Well-organized with multi-tasking abilities.
- The willingness to learn and continuously develop skills and knowledge. Intermediate command in English language and use of general computer programs such as the MS Office, and Outlook
