**Job Purpose**
Plan, coordinate and monitor all inspection activities; lead the implementation of approved inspection schedules and lead the day-to-day activities of the assigned inspection unit in the inspection of all related static equipment (pressure vessels, piping and pressure safety valves), lifting equipment, and transportable cylinders and other assigned equipment in the plant and QVC premises in the company ; carry out qualification of both company and contractor welders in compliance with the defined company quality standards and as per inspection plans.

**Key Accountabilities**

Supervision of Inspectors
- Organize and supervise the activities and work of Inspectors to ensure that all work within a specific area of the inspection activity is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.

Execution of Inspection Activities
- Monitor the establishing and maintaining process of detailed historical records for all equipment in his area to provide information required for repairs or further action and inspection. Maintain details of inspection procedures, specifications of materials and severity charts for machines used within assigned area.
- Ensure effective execution of non-destructive testing, including taking ultrasonic thickness measurements and performing flaw detection tests by various methods, also performing positive material identification.
- Carry out visual and non-destructive examinations of gas and steam pressure vessels, piping systems and associated facilities. Analyze results, conduct simple calculations where necessary for discussion with Senior Inspector Supervise ultrasonic thickness surveys in plant and piping systems, analyze the results with Senior Inspector to provide feedback and corrective action.
- Supervise formal written reports for pressure vessel tests specifying the condition of the equipment inspected incorporating drawings, sketches where necessary and highlighting areas of concern to be used for insurance, maintenance and further planning.
- Monitor the ongoing performance improvement of inspection services by recommending improvements, including preparing written performance standards and procedures for all inspection instruments and techniques.
- Assists Senior Inspector to prepare technical specifications and requirements for external inspection services required by the company and participate in the review and evaluation of bids for inspection work according to specifications and procedures to be followed.
- Participate in detailed shutdown planning for inspection works for assigned plant including reviewing equipment lists and defining specific and general inspection requirements.
- Supervise contractor’s inspectors during shutdown or other times. Witness tests and examinations and review the test data and reports generated by inspectors to check that inspection techniques used are in compliance with company and other prescribed standards to ensure the continued safety of the plant. Ensure that completed work is accompanied by applicable certificates and drawings and that inspection documents are received.
- Prepare minor inspection plan for some parts of the assigned plant when requested by superior for general or specific inspection survey.
- Supervise the handling of and maintains in good order inspection tools and equipment including inspection labs and equipment.

Housekeeping
- Carry out housekeeping and arrangement of various inspection tools in order to facilitate their efficient use.

- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Statements and Reports
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet and department requirements, policies, and standards.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.

Related Assignments
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
- 5 years’ overall relevant experience in field of in-service plant inspection with at least 3 years of growing supervisory/ team leadership responsibilities, preferably in oil/gas processing and production plant environment.
